I dont really know anything about the racing line y pipe but i have never heard anything bad about a cattman product. I have had nothing but good experiences with cattman and you can't beat Brian for customer service.

I guess you can compare the hp and torque gains of the two and decide.

As far as a direct comparison, it is a very gray and subjective area, I reserve to say which is better as we all know Brian makes quality stuff. It is My goal to also provide products that are proven and of equally high quality. My goal has always been to be value driven giving you guys the most I can for the best price. The design of our pipe is one reason we can offer it at a lower price, less parts are needed to make it.

As for dyno numbers, as Brian pointed out in another thread, it's near impossible short of having a stock, racingline, and cattman ypipe all dynoed on the same car on the same day. There are far too many variables.

Our pipe made more hp(I believe 2) but there are so many variables that make it some what of an irrelevant number

We used a manual car, cattman auto
dynojet, mustang
same day dynos, different day dynos
operators were different
ambient temps and altitude may be different etc.
and so on

But I'd be hard pressed to see a variance of more than 2hp either way between the pipes should a head-to-head test be performed. Both work very well and both make good power.

Excellent points. I really think it's like the Nismo vs Fujita CAI debate, you can't really lose with either one. From the pics the Racingline pipe looks like a quality piece. I do have a Cattman and love it. If the Racing line bolts up the Cattman headers then pick one and go for it. Taz is correct 1-2hp makes almost zero difference. We will have to great products to choose from.

im just happy to know us 6th gens are gettin more options

but bak to the topic price wise ya racingline would be a good choice and just from word of mouth cattmans would be good. 1-2 hp isn't a big difference and like stated it all depends on different things.

I've looked over the few threads regarding the racingline Y pipe. I just bought one and was wanting to know from the individuals who already purchased the Racingline Ypipe if they needed a 02 bung installed or did it come with one on it already?

Yes, I did search. I found one response in another thread from Chernmax regarding the 02 bung but no other response to this matter.

You have to believe the have one on there. If you look at their website and see the Y-pipe pic, it looks like there are some wires going up to the spot on the longer/straight pipe where the O2 senser is.

this is a complete bolt on y pipe, only the 5AT's have o2 bungs in the pipe. If you are 02's at the rear for header use, then those would be extra but available

Price did it for me as well. But I'll be getting the B Pipe from Cattman soon. More than likely after X-Mas. With my Magnaflows I'm hoping for Vigilante's sound and a little bump in the HP.

I think both are pretty equal performance wise. Price wise Cattman is more expensive but one bonus with Cattman's is if you decide to get headers his Y-Pipe will bolt right up to the Y-pipe.

My old Y-pipe used to look like Racingline but it was made by CE Enterprise (No longer in business). I had zero issues with it with over 2+ years of hard use till I removed it and put my Hotshot headers on...

Racingline y-pipe will bolt right up to Cattman headers.

Taz also has Spun metal core cats you can add to his y-pipe. For alot less then you can imagine.

Well, that's good news b/c the headers are definitely on my Christmas list.
As well as many more performance mods & accessories. Also, it looks like
everyone that order there Racingline Y-Pipe recieved them right before
Thanksgivings.

Cattman Y Pipes

Got a 6th Gen maxima and have the Cattman Y pipes and headers on the way. I can say this much, his B pipes and mufflers are second to none when it comes to quality. I've rarily seen craftsmenship of this caliber on aftermarket parts. Brian's great to talk to as well. I have no doubts that his Y pipes and headers will live up to his reputation.

Of course it will live up to his reputation. I'm drooling over the cattman b-pipe right now. I can't wait to get it installed.

If you have a 2004-2008 SE/SL Maxima [5spd AT only].
It will have that opening on the Y-Pipe
for you to install the O2 sensor just like the O.E.M "Y".

next up is the bpipe. looks like only cattman provides one for the 6th gen. he charges a pretty penny but it may all be worth it. the ypipe adds a lil sounds not much becuz the stock resonator on the midpipe is way big. ypipe and new bpipe with stock mufflers on 07 should sound pretty nice

the ypipe isnt so bad to do at home. much easier with a lift. jus gotta have the right tools to do it. if yours has an o2 sensor in the ypipe i recommend getting an oxygen sensor socket, makes life much easier.

I paid for 5 day delivery but UPS is stating it'll be at my house in 13 days. I think maybe it's with the shipping company and not with Taz. He might be able to put some heat on them. I'm a little shocked mine is gonna take so long too.

MisterSparkle, take it from a D.I.Yer that loves to fabricate/modify his own stuff. When replacing or installing o2 sensors your gonna want this socket or socket set to remove the o2 sensor. It will make the task @ hand 100% easier. It's much cheaper to just purchase the single socket size that fits the Maxima o2 sensors for under $5.00. With the entire 02 Sensor socket kit you can remove other parts as well. Check out this kit from harbor freights below:

Does anyone have an idea of what size O2 socket to buy? I don't want the whole set, just the one socket.
