please help.. i need rim advice

Hey,

i want to get new rims, i found Helo HE834 B..the guy im buying from description is:

Set of 4 20 inch Helo HE834 Black and Chrome wheels. These wheels come with Falken 452 tires 225/30/20. One of the four wheels has been damaged and bent and is visually noticeable. The other three wheels are in perfect shape with no scratches and all four tires are in excellent shape with less than 1000 miles driven on them. The bolt pattern for the wheels is 5X112, and the offset is 35. These wheels look very nice and this is a chance to get them cheap since one is damaged. Serious bidders can contact me to view the item. This item is for local pickup only in the st louis area. I paid 2400 dollars for these new in may.

questions i have:
1) what you think of rims?
2) does it fit my 05 maxima?
3) worth getting them for 300-400? and just buying a replacement for the damaged one for $250?
4) besides balancing, do i need to do anything else to fit 20's on my car?
5) worth the price?

thanks for the help

i say 225 would look small because the mizzy came w/ 245 stock... you are putting on a smaller width tire... why do that???

yes it would fit.. its smaller again...

You dont want to have strange wheeel gap and tucked in rims...

it will just look odd...

anyone else agree?

Tire size is waaaaay off.

Main problem is the bolt pattern. Won't fit.

you be better off just getting new rims, already one is damaged....if it was a true multi piece wheel it would be a different story..and you dont want to go less than 245..you will be mad you did...hell i wish i would have done a 255/35/19 in the front as it is right now...

Slap on some 245/40/19s on those and you are golden.

Do you know anything about wheel specs?

The maxima has a +40 offset. These wheels are a +35. They would actually sit further out (more flush) to the fenders than stock.

But nevermind that... The AUDI/VW bolt pattern might give him some trouble.

This thread should be closed.

KC is correct. The offset should not be a problem but the bolt pattern renders this just plain ridiculous.

Search elsewhere.

If your spending all that money on bigger wheels why not get wider one's as well to fit a bigger tire like 275/35/20, or 285/35/20, so the tire doesn't look too skinny?

By the way very nice looking wheel. Love the black color, and the deep dish look! Just not wide enough. IMO I'm sure they offer something similar to that look in a wider wheel.

Like a few ppl stated above. The 35+ offset is fine, the problem is the lug pattern. And those were my first set of 20's I ever had with the same offset but with the correct lug pattern for a Maxima (5x114.3) and they do not cost $2400 Brand New...especially for 20" Helos.

Those will not work either. Anything off a Mercedes, BMW, VW, Audi, or most German cars will not work. It seems like you dont know much about wheel fitments for the Maximas.

Quick wheel/tire fitment info: You will need to look for these lug patterns (5x114.3 or 5x4.50) and an offset of (35+ or 40+) will work. If its a staggered setup (42+ or higher) is needed in the rear, and staggered means that the rear rims are wider than the fronts.

Tire readings goes like this (ex. 245 width/35 height/20 rim size and the letters are Speed ratings)

Normal tire size for 20's(8"-8.5"wide) for our cars are usually 245/35-40/20 but you can use like 2 other sizes.

Its really not that complicated to know what fits, you should do your homework before you waste money on a useless set of wheels.

Hope this helps!
