No Option for Factory Tint

Why do most minivans come with tint from the factory, & Maximas don't even have an option of getting any tint? (actual tinted glass)

maximas are tinted from the factory.

minivans are a different vehicle serving different purposes.

Ok, all cars are tinted 70% from factory, but minivans are tinted to like 20%. Thats what I'm getting at here.

I've always wondered this, but many minivans and SUV when they 1st came out had untinted windows, now it's normal to see all minvans/SUV with tint but it's usually labeled as privacy glass, Ford a couple years back actually made the tint darker on the Explorers/Mountaineers, cause they realized so many mothers where buying them and putting kids in the back seats so the darker windows added to less sun in the children eyes

Why they don't actually tint sedans but oddly wagons are

You can buy an 08 Landcruiser or Lexus LX570, they come through with clear glass, gotta wait until 09 to get factory tint, would be interesting to know why they did that but then again the LX is got a waiting list while the Landcruiser and Sequoia sit on dealer lots like Domestic Trucks

if a car comes from the factory with a/c, the windows are already tinted- albeit VERY light.

Here in NY/NJ they don't tint them, they have guys to tint them for customers at the dealer for the few who want it but generally you take the car else where, but seeing that your in AZ a sun state, more customers may want tint so they do way more of it, from time to time when Im in georgia, it looks like everyone is tinted

maybe because sedans with rear tint and now front tint look gay?

(seeing that front driver and passenger tint is illegal in most states)

just to add to what I said here in the greater new york/jersey area the dealers really only cater to selling new cars, many times I've seen cars with some exterior and interior mods with ridiculous dealer add on fees, and every time I'm amazed that it looks like a blind person worked on it, I always make a point of laughing at the salesman and pointing out the horrible install job, I've seen dealer tinted cars that just look bad

I guess it a regional thing, whatever is more popular in certain areas is what sells, the only other area I know of is Atlanta Georgia and Miami Florida and many of the dealers their have accessory shops attached to the dealer shops to install everything, compared to the Northeast their are way more cars coming out of the dealerships with custom leather, Nav, wheels and tint
