Shifting roughly

Just got an 04 6spd 52K on it. It shifts rough from 1st to 2nd and then sometimes into 3rd. The previous owner told me that he just had the master cylinder replaced in the clutch. Should I try changing trans fluid first to see if it make a difference? What type of fluid do you guys recommend? And what is the capacity? Thanks

M/T OIL PFP:KLD20
Replacement ECS006RF
DRAINING
1. Start the engine and let it run to warm up the transaxle oil.
2. Stop the engine. Remove drain plug and drain oil.
3. Set a new gasket on the drain plug and install it in transaxle
body.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse gasket.
FILLING

Oil grade : API GL-4, Viscosity SAE 75W-85
Capacity
(reference)
: Approximately 2.3 (2 3/8 qt, 2 Imp qt)

1. Remove filler plug. Fill with new oil until oil level reaches the
specified limit near filler plug mounting hole as shown.
2. After refilling oil, check oil level. Assemble a new gasket on to
filler plug, then install it in transaxle body.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse gasket

Just pulled that from the fsm no sure on the fluid though. Certain years you can use what you want as long as its spec and certain need nissan. Might want to check the fluid section as Im sure there's lots of advice.

04' SE 6M/T 53k miles with same problems like you. I replaced the clutch together w/ both cylinders not long time ago and the only one difference i notice is a lighter clutch pedal. Nothing else.
Also tried almost every trans. oil available like Castrol, Amsoil and Redline(current). Nothing helped. If i have to be honest, i think the Amsoil was better than the other two brands incl the OEM one. Amsoil made the shifting little bit more smooth, but not more than 10%
Looks like the only one way to go is a rebuild or a brand new transmission.

It does it both when its cold and warmed up, but seems to do it more when cold.
