Rear Bumper's w/ and w/o black molding.

I just purchased a 07 Max SL. I noticed on some of the rear bumpers there is a piece in between the tail pipes at the very end of the bumper that looks like a piece of molding. The guy at the Nissan body shop says it's not molding, it's just painted like that. My piece on my bumper is the same color of my car but I like that look. Does anyone know if I would have to buy a new bumper or is it painted and I can just get it painted?

Hope someone knows what I'm talking about because I don't have a pic. If I can get one later I will add.

Is that what you are talking about?

I'm sure you could have it painted. BlueBatmobile sells an overlay that would work too. Mine came with it but it's not painted on, it feels like the black plastic that goes around the foglights.

Thanks for the pic. That's it. I'll check on the overlay.

they are 2 different bumpers. the 07/08SE's come standard like that to give it the sport look. the 07/08SL's are painted to match the whole bumper. bluebat does sell an overlay for it. i believe it is 40 bucks. the 3 choices you have to match that is:

1. Buy the overlay... Con - it will be kind of hard to install and it wont look as good as the real thing. Pro - its cheap.
2. Get it painted. Con - Expensive. Pro - Looks great!
3. Buy an 07/08SE bumper. Con - Expensive. Pro - looks stock and unmodified.

Yeah it's not painted, it has a bit of a texture to it. When I had mine painted they just masked it off...no paint.

Do you have a close up picture so I can see what it looks like? They want to charge me $125.

By the way your car is nice.

What color was your car before you got it painted? Looks good.

I'll post pics later, but I didn't paint mine since I'm goin with the black and white theme.... I thinks looks better when you don't paint it, because looks sportier.
