Well it is the tab of steel hanging down. It is certainly bent. It looks like it used to have a bolt in it. I can tell by the marks around the hole. Can anyone tell me what it is and what should be (or used to be) attached to it?

Maybe a support braket for the exhaust and catalytic converter. Service department told me I needed new support brakets because they are missing. Total cost = $200+

That's exactly what mine looked like when I ran over a big *ss diesel rig tire! But when we jacked up the car it looked like some type of drainage pan that bent down and wrapped around the y-pipe hanger bracket.

Since I installed my new y-pipe I have a annoying vibration at around 2500 rpm when the engine is cold. At first I thought it was the Y-pipe. Not the case. It had to be something else. I figured the gusset was broken. I still have to look it over when I have it up on a lift.

Now I'm wondering if it's the exhaust support brackets. 200 bucks, really?

There was a TSB out not too long ago...

Most were getting it fixed free I believe.

Stickies are great for instances like this.

If that's what it is then yes. Parts and labor.
