You don't need the air on, but need the heat on hot so you move coolant thru your heater core. It helps to have the front of the car higher then the rear to let air out.

I have this too....going to get a flush...my car also has a slight squeal right after I start going, just for a 2nd or two when the car is not warmed up. I was wondering if this is related?

you should have the heat on max so the pump kicks in and you circulate the entire system.

CanadianMoFo I'm having this exact problem. Do you have a copy of the TSB? I would rather not pay the 45 bucks if I don't have to. Thanks Jared

Why arent yall reading the thread? The solution is right in this thread....
Open the radiator cap...fill to top.. start car & put on heat/ac.. leave it til the bubbles come out and then cap it & you should be good.. when the bubbles come out that shows the air coming out.
READ THE THREAD TO FIND YOUR ANSWERS!!

Similar Issues!!!

I am having that sound on the passenger side of the car when I press the gas. I havent noticed my heat being out but I am not usally sitting idle in the car and this noise just started. I looked under the hood when I got home to see if anything was abnormal and i see a little antifreeze at the top of the radiator like it is coming out cause it is too full. I let the car cool and open the cap and the coolant comes out with force after the pressure is released. The coolant still looks really full like 1/4 to 1/2 from top. Will getting the air out of the system still be the solution for my problem? I have my fluids topped off at the place that changes my oil! Can it being overfilled be what is cause it to leak out of the radiator it isnt around any hoses its on the top of the radiator??? Thanks

Your kidding right? Wow I've had this sound for a while now and my AC went out like a month ago and its because of air in the coolent system? I swear this car is built like a POS not only do I hear this sound but my damn moonroof leaks when it rains in Arizona. Now I run the risk of effing up the head gasket because of this? speechless about this Maxima......

Opened up my cap to find out that it needed fluid, filled it up and turned on the car cold. Let it run for a 8 minutes, some air bubbles did go to the top. AC is still not working. Not very happy with this car at all, I just had the hoses redone by the dealership since they had to fix my damn timing chain ramps, and now this crap?

Coolant system only effects the Heater, not the AC...if you're AC isn't blowing cold, that's the refrigerant system...separate from the radiator...although the condenser sits in front of the radiator...two different systems...
