Mine is a combination of carbon fiber and aluminum. I think metal would be louder sicne it conducts sound better than plastic of cf. I love the sound of my car but its the combination of the intake and the single 3" exhaust.

Hey all, just bought an 07 Max, looking at some basic bolt ons... so the Fujita is the general bang/buck concensus, but anyone use the KN INtake or is that not worth the added cost.

Just wondering, did anyone get them installed by a shop or anything and if so how much did they charge you?.

I couldn't disagree about the "little performance" idea more.

The issue is when you feel the power. I'm not so experienced with the MAxima, but my other tuner car I saw the gains at higher revs, which you may not achieve with an Automatic unless you're just hammering the pedal.

I've experienced myself during all day drag races that when you run the car during the day, you get worse time than at night when the air is cooler. If you can bring cooler/more air to your car more often you'll get better performance.

I was happy to see a thread on CAI's here, cuz I've never heard of Fujita before, and yes I could have done a search, but I've found Forum Search engines to be clunky and tough =-)

Thanks

or hit them with the ban stick and tell them to search next time or make a damn sticky about them so they don't need to pop up every 2 weeks...it's not like intakes are a new idea...

i swear mods leave these type of threads open, just to see what will get said in them. waiting to lock them...

oh and a FWI is the best for getting cold air into your engine bay and cheapest, other then a hood scoop. ram air is a myth, air is uncompressable at automotive speeds.

and at the end of the day it's just a damn air intake. There are 500hp Ferraris and skylines that use the stock style airboxes just like we use. know why? because it doesn't really ****ing matter. which you're not going to net more then 6-9 hp, if that, somewhere along the curve. and 7hp is impossible to feel by the seats of your pants aka butt dyno. yes yes i know you're all going to say i can feel it but all you are hearing is the sound thinking you are going fast.

Thanks. I was just asking for different member's opinions and I got what I was looking for.

I just bought a few goodies from Stillen for my 07, and one of those items was a K&N CAI, which is now on sale for about $233 (usually like $289). I'm expecting it next week, so I'll let you know what I think when i install it.

Has anyone ever had any experiences with the K&N?
