I use PureOne oil and air filters. I was going to get a K&N but I figured I will get a CAI soon enough, so no need to waste money on that.

As everyone has said: oil/oil filter/ cabin filter, and also change your PCV valve, check your coolant and trans fluid as well.

I tried searching but, whats the better mobile 1 oil filter for a 6th gen? I know the book recommends the M-108, but is there a larger filter that will also fit?

Don't do K&N. They use oiled filters. When it comes time to clean, it's very easy to over-oil, thus messing up your MAF and o2 sensors.

As for oil filters... Mobil/Amsoil/Wix are all good.

K&N is the best, just oil it properly and follow directions for oil Mobil 1 still the best.

Amsoil gets great praise for Oil, filters, and air filters.

However, I currently use the Mobile 1 line. The extended performance or whatever the heck they call it...the full synthetic stuff, not the clean series. Been using Mobile 1 full syn for a long time now and am very pleased.

That's the thing... not everyone has the same idea of "oil it properly"... I prefer filters like the ones R2C uses...

Whats the mileage on the car, never heard of the phrase tune up, and then the only recommendation was an oil change and air filter.

Change the trans fluid if your past 30k, change the coolant and brake fluid also

Use Mobil 1 in all 3 cars. With the Nissan, I use either the M108 filter or the Nissan 9E000 filter which is slightly longer than suggested Nissan filter. Also change the air filter and cabin filter every 10-15,000 miles.

Every time I sell or trade a car I wonder what difference all the fussing over oil and oil filters really makes.

I use Royal Purple oil and their filter. Auto zone or PEP Boys sells the in-cabin filter for about 15 dollars. The dealer wants 49 dollars plus 100 dollars to install it.You can do it yourself in 15 minutes.

Fram toughguard oil filter 99.9% one
CAI homemade SPECTRE setup with replacement filter that cost $19.99 which I swap 2 times a year. They also have a race filter which costs more but will not stop much of anything from getting in the engine. Just big particles crumb size and bigger. Works wonders at the track though. All purchased at Checkers/Shucks, and Autozone.
