Award Winning

Nisssan is known for making award winning engines but are their transmissions in the same class or is any automobile maker known for a tough transmission?

IBTL.
Nissan transmissions simply cant hold up to the torque that their amazing engines produce. Not too sure if any car maker has a superior built tranny.
There are enough tranny threads though on the 6th gen.

04-05 mainly. And to answer the first post, yes there are many different cars with awesome transmissions. But it seems like Nissan takes the cake with quickest in failures. Every car I have owned other than this car have made it at least 100k miles before any problems. I will have replaced this car's tranny 2 times by then. Next for me is 6mt or beefed up 5speed.

Ok, will re-phrase. The transmissions that Nissan installed in the 6th gens are crap.

2004 Nissan Maxima SE
My tranny is a 5AT: RE5F22A (AW55-50SN)

Stock Torque Converter is: AF33-5

But Nissan chooses them.

The tranny in my 1990 died. The tranny in my 1995 died. The tranny in my 1999 was ok, and so far my '04 is ok too.
