Problem with odometer

Ok guys heres my problem. One day my odometer and gear selector started flickering, and now they totally went out. They come on and off every once in a while, so I'm thinking it may be a loose wire? Let me know what you think. I will post pics a little later of what I'm talking about.

check your battery , may be low voltage unless its a wiring issue..

I think it may be a wiring issue, because i just had the gauge cluster replaced last summer.

odometer runs from the computer...your still getting the mileage recorded you just cant see it...there is probably a plug in the back that might have come loose. there is some one on here doing LED conversions for different colored gauges and stereo buttons and what not. he would be the guy to talk to about taking it apart properly

dimmer switch? when you say odometer flickering do you mean the light, or the digital numbers themselves?

i had a similar odometer problem a few months back and they had to replace the internal circuit board and have the mileage reprogrammed. took 4 days to get it back.

good luck

The light works fine, its the numbers themselves. They flicker on and off when they feel like it.

it sounds like the connection to the gauges or the board. my mileage disapeared, then would come back every once in awhile, but sometimes it said crazy $hit like (sort of like when a digital watch dies, you see 888888). in my case the computer board was replaced, but for you it sounds more of a connection issue.

I believe it is the connection. I'm gonna take a look at it this weekend and find out.
