Pre cat failure
Whats up fellas
Do the maxima's have any known problems with pre-cat failure? I've seen some of the 3rd gen 05-06 Altima's which have had this problem. I was wondering how common this is if at all? Are there any warning signs for those not mechanically inclined to watch out for?

I had a engine light back about 15,000 miles ago which came on for a day or two until i cleared it with an OBDII. The code never displayed on the obdII and cleared. It appeared like a cylinder misfire as it wasn't running right.

I had a cat issue a month ago took it to the dealer, they cleared the code. Then the light came on this past weekend coming going to Orlando and then it went off on my way back from orlando. It has not come back on. Oh by the way my code was P0420 they told me Right Cat. 1200.00 if I want it replaced. I called nissan to get a goodwill repair and they denied me, but dealer said he would give me 20 percent off. I'm checking local shops for a better price, Nissan Corp is a joke after all the money I spent on service they blew me off.
