HID fogs for 07 Max question

I have an 07 Max with OEM HID headlights. I just installed an Apexcone 35w HID kit for my foglights. But, I didn't install it with a harness as the kit didn't come with one. Everything seems to be working fine. The fogs come on with the headlights, without any flicker. I usually turn on my HID headlights first for about 30 seconds in order for the voltage to drop, and then turn on my fogs so that I wouldn't risk overloading the circuit. Everyone everywhere seems to be saying that a harness should be used. My question is: Does anyone know if the foglights on the 07 Max is wired with the headlights or are they wired separately? In order words, do the foglights have their own fuses? Because if they are wired separately, then i would feel much better running without a harness as the stock halogen foglight bulb was 55w (vs the current 35w HID). I would GREATLY appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this. Thank you in advance!

So I guess the harness is not necessary for your 5th gen. But I have a 6th gen and the wiring might not be similar to yours. Without it, will there be damages to my wires in the long run? Revs2Hard, are you using an HID harness and how long have you had your setup?
