"Brand New" JIC MAGIC FLT-TAR COIL-OVERS
Today, UPS finally delivered my JIC MAGIC FLT-TAR/A2s coil-overs
for my 2005 Maxima SE. I only have a few pics below of them
outside the box that they were delivered in. Install should be
tomorrow afternoon or first thing Saturday morning.

I specifically order VIP JIC FLT-TAR 15 way dampening adjustable Monotube
Coilovers for the Nissan Maxima 04-08. The part number on the box as well
as the receipt indicates that they are. Part # A34FLTA2VIP. Doesn't say
any thing about A2's. OK! I just look @ some of the instruction paper work
and it's show how to adjust the A2's & the A1's. Plus the part number above
comes up under JIC Magic FLT-TAR category on there main site. How far off
are the tars vs the A2's? Help me out BlackonBlack98!!

flt-a2 vip (previous model)

flt-tar vip (current model)
these are pics of a32/a33 but they demonstrate the differences. springs were changed from purple to dark silver, many spring rates were changed, allen head locking collar replaced lock nut style collar. not sure what, if any, changes were made to the damper. what you got is simply a previous version.
mind sharing what you paid? if you prefer to keep it private a pm would be fine.

I can always change out the springs right? You know... get a different
spring rate effect like the newer version. These are still really good coil-
overs though. I forget exactly what I paid but it was a little over 2 G's.
I'm wonder if they just gave me different springs instead of the grays or
black ones. I'll contact them tomorrow!!

i wouldn't worry too much about the spring rates. really it was a minor update for the tar from the a2. they are indeed great coilovers and rest assured you got basically the best setup on the market. i would just be a little concerned if i paid for the newest model and received otherwise. a visit to the sponsors section would have saved you some money as well.

I'm slammed on some coilovers of a "lesser" quality than those and I'll never ride on anything (even stock) other than JIC or BC. I've had first hand experience with both.
The install is really really easy. I didn't have time to complete
the entire set-up today but @ least the Front coilovers are in
for now. Tomorrow after work I'll try to finish up the rear coilovers.
Good question, I thought the very same thing but
the top mount is actually angled from the top position.
Plus, everything always gets looked over @ least 3 times
before wheels are placed back on an the car is driven.
The camber plate is adjustable as well but the pillow
ball top mount only goes on in one position. So @
least I know that it's installed correctly along with the
rest of the front coilovers. I definitely will check to
see if this camber plate is in the right position though.
Thanks for being observant!!

if the mounts were facing the other way it would be adjusting camber.
caster is the angle of the strut front to back. it controls how fast the steering wheel returns, among other suspension geometry related things
in a nut shell they are facing the right way.

Thanks Shoey!! I just spent extra wrench time taking apart
the driver side coilover to make sure it was accurate. An it
was CORRECT!!! Now I'm a little behind schedule but should
be rolling tomorrow. Doing the rear coilover installs tonight
but taking a quick break to have a sandwich.

Update on the JIC coilovers. This things are "Absolutely Amazing".....
it's like night & day compare to a stock set-up. Matter of fact compared
to my old Adj. Koni Front Sruts & KyB AGX Adj. Rear Shocks as well.
An they where awesome!! But this coilovers take the over-all suspension
performance & handling to another level by far. I've never been into plush-
plush ride comfort but I do like a ride that is smooth. The JIC are very smooth
along with great performance & handling. 100% satisfied with JIC coilovers for
the 2004-2008 maxima so far. Later today I'll have pics of the car adjusted @
it's lower level drop zone for you guys. Later........
Check out JIC's pre-adjusted front & rear coilover specs right out the box.
Can you say "HUGE WHEEL WELL GAP".

Hey BlackonBlack98, I've spoke with JIC & the company that sold me
the JIC MAGIC FLT-TAR coilovers. They both confirmed that the coilo-
overs are indeed TARS. Evidently there still using the purple springs as
well as the dark gray and black. These coilovers are the best in handling,
performance, comfort, etc.... I truly mean that 100%!!! I started the first
couple of days on the softest setting and they felt really good but definitely
need to be stiffer. So, I crank them up to 4 or 5 clicks an they feel so awesome.
Can't wait to play with some of the higher levels as well as dropping the ride a bit
more. Honestly guys these JIC MAGIC FLT-TAR coilover are definitely worth the lettuce.
Most recent email reply back below.
To Mr. Bell,
I received an email from Turbochargers.com about a suspension that you had ordered. A34 suspension we shipped out is in fact the FLT-TAR suspension, it is still in the purple springs because it is a first generation TAR that we brought in. I just wanted to notify you of this fact. If you have any other questions please let me know. Thank you again.

Steven Tran
