Unsprung....
Unsprung....
Ziiippppp!!! I have now put on my flame retardant suit for the following post.
After almost 1 year of riding on the Progress springs, I have reinstalled my OEM springs.
Although I really enjoyed the stance of the Max when lowered and the way it handled on smooth roads, I had to give it up for the comfort of the OEM springs. I live in Cleveland, OH, which is the poorest city in the U.S. and our roads in many, many areas are horrible. Especially now when it freezes and thaws and freezes and thaws again; the roads buckle, crack and create potholes the size of swimming pools- I even saw Michael Phelps in one of them doing laps and smoking his bong!! My wife wouldn't even ride "in" my car anymore, let alone drive it. So we alway drove around in her 2008 Ford Expedition Limited to the tune of 12 MPG's at $4.00 a gallon b/c she couldn't stand the lowered Max. After 2 weeks back on the OEM springs, I am satisfied with my decision. I still hate the OEM gap, I don't know why Nissan continues to cut them so damn big in the front, but for me, function over form has won. The Monroe Sensatrac struts I put on with the Progress springs really shine now with their road handling and comfort with the OEM springs. I will be getting new tires soon (Bridgestone Turanzas) as well which will help even further smooth out the roads- I am still on my OEM Conti's.
My Progress springs have about 8,000 miles on them- I will have to double check to be exact- but they are in great shape and are available to be purchased. Since they are used there shouldn't be a break in period waiting for the springs to settle. I also have the RacingLine FSTB that is available too. If anyone is interested, please PM me.
Let the flaming begin.

I don't notice a diff between oem and progress, maybe we have good roads here but even after being lowered I still get 'this car rides like a caddy' comments
