Headers finally installed!! Yay!!!!!!

What up homies!

Well today I finally got to pick up my max after the SE-R header install. It was complete yesterday but I picked her up today. Big difference and the rev sounds amazing!! I need a new resonator now though to lower the sound a bit. All in all.... trully worth it and she is pulling hard now. Big difference in weight too!! Next week is Apexi retune and I will inform her numbers after Dyno. I owe this mod to 2themax05, 90max, and Ramberg. Thanks for all the phone calls and help on this! For any of the Long Island guys, PM me if you need the hook up on the shop I went to. Enjoy the pics homies!!! Woot Woot!!

It was $500 even. Yeah they had to weld it on since it was not predrilled.

Sweet.... Did you watch him closely at all when he was installing the sim? Did he hook both rear o2 sensors to the dual channel sim (one sensor's white signal wire, and another sensor's white signal/ground/heat etc.)?

Are your cats in decent shape? You might be able to sell them. So these headers are for the Altima SE-R? What brand.

Tell me more about the volume level since the install. BTW, your car is still looking sharp.

Did you notice any difference in low end torque? Damn, those stock manifolds with the pre-cats look like they would flow worse than a straw. Also, any emissions implications with removing the cats?

You won't pass visual emissions inspection... but if your state only does an OBDII code scan, you can pass if you install a dual channel o2 sim on the two rear o2 sensors. You'd have to check to see what kind of inspection your state does.

I wasnt at the shop when they did it. The guys are great there but I will confirm. I am sure they did cause there are these 2 wires from the y-pipe to the rear. So far so good though

Good point bro!! I am selling the Cattman Y-pipe now to some local dude. The headers are from motorsportz. I think they build in house. Only modification was that the Y-pipe needed to be extended slightly. Yeah she is loud at low RPM but high range; she seems to mellow out. But I need a A/M resonator though.
Thanks bro your max is always smokin!

on LI there is no visual, they do a safety inspection, and check the ecu for codes. my 02 with headers has been passing inspection since 05

enjoy the new power, headers are a nice power adder..

They actually extended the Y-pipe just enough so it clears. Its basically a perfect fit. But no shaving was required since the Y-pipe extension.

Thanks for all the comments and support homies!!

I actually had one question also.... I asked the shop to do the motor mount inserts also... But they had a hard time getting the motor mounts to stay in place so they aborted that mission (lol). Any recommendations homies??

Once you get the Apexi retuned you should notice(with 93 octane of course) that the car will have that extra "umf" off the light. Take the car past 120mph and you'll notice the car wants to pull harder than before.

The ones from Taz? Weird. They should just slide right in. heh

I never got my rear one installed though. Time constraints etc. Maybe if I ever get my tranny replaced. lol

But it looks like that Y-Pipe has a cat built in.... That should pass a visual wouldn't it? It's the Cattman without the cat that definitely won't pass a visual. We don't have a visual here in Denver Co so I have been passing.

So Grim, what have you been using as a resonator? I don't see a mod list in your sig so I don't know if you have a catback etc. You might as well give us a mod list too

They should have just grinded down alittle more, I have ebay exhaust as well o2 similators no cel light, and best thing no starter problem I have a 6sp starter is on other side plenty of clearence. So fellas with 6sp,4sp auto and Cvts would benefits with these and have no problems with these because of the starter location. just make sure you use factory gaskets. Yo Gary it looks good I'll see you soon
