According to sylvania.com

According to http://www.sylvania.com the 2004 Nissan Maxima fits a 3156LL as well as the 912. Reason I created this thread was because I have a really expensive set of led's that I bought for the cornering lights that kept poping my fuse (3 Watt Luxeon Bulb from Superbrightleds) so I was wondering since I need reverse lights or backup lights as they are refered to by sylvania, Should I really take out my tails or is that a typo?

Thanks,
Vik

You can also put in 3157 bulbs in the corners. I have amber dual 3157's over a year now with no problem. The leds are not even as bright as the stock bulb down there. When one led blows out in one or the other than you'll have one corner brighter than one or the other. Same goes for the 194 license plate and reverse led's. I have one plate light brighter than the other and they both flicker on and off. Shutting the trunk will cause a reaction in the led's.

Doesn't 3156LL mean long life? If so there is no difference. 912 reverse bulb,I've never read that anywhere around here. Screw sylvania.com, your better doing a search around the org

Org says 912. But Sylvania says 3156. I thought maybe you can interchange them or something

They won't fit, the 912 has the same base as a 194 except the bulb itself is bigger.

And SmokinMaxSE, the 3157 is just a dual filament bulb (like for the parking/blinker) it is the same size, you are just using one part of the bulb that's all. And the flickering is caused by using cheap lights not because they are "LED's"

I know. Just thought I'd throw it out there cause I didn't see any amber in 3156 bulbs besides led's. Oh and I ordered from the site you and others recommended....... www.autolumination.com and www.superbrightleds.com
Can't see how no one besides me didn't get flickering led's. My neighbor thought I was putting on a light show in the rear seats.

If you have 3157 dual element bulbs you'll see extra connectors at the base (copper wire). Match up the connectors to the stock bulb, then temporarily cover the unneaded wire w/ electrical tape.
Test it, if it works and doesn't blow a fuse you will be able to cut it off.
