help!!clicking behind dash panel

so my wife calls and tells me there is a clicking sound behind the dashboard, I check it out and there is a tube with a sensor on the lower trim panel under the steering wheel(just above your right Knee) the tube goes to a White valve of some sort, that is what is making the noise. so I unplugged and replugged and the noise stopped. anyone Know what the hell it is? why it was clicking?

on a side note I shut the car off in drive right before this happened?

thanks in advance,
John C.

it sounds like i am having a similar issue- i have not been able to reporoduce the noise when i take it to the mechanic. i just got rid of my '95 max and bought a '05.
i occasionaly get a buzzing noise that seems comes from behind the center console. it only happens when i brake and when it does happen its only after i just start driving. when it acts up, the brake pedal feels "stiff"- i cant push it all the way down like normal. it seems like when the car is warmed up, it stops all together.
