Sell em both and do a double din screen with navigation!! Double din would look much more cleaner. I just happen to be selling two of em in the classifieds!

The reason why I did it like this is to fine tune my audio.. I mean isn't that the whole purpose of going aftermarket and putting in all these extra few hundred watts and amps..?

Doesn't the black match the black interior..? Doesn't the silver match the silver on the sides of the dash..? To me it does..

It sounds like it does with the oem radio except for a more fine treble sound.. Im not 100% finish with everything.. All I did was install the aftermarket radio and eq.. Next step is to run the wires for the amps and subs.. This is why the eq is not turned on in the pic..

I have a 2008 Nissan Maxima. I installed an aftermarket radio, but of course my information center is blank. It connects to the factory radio. I saw or I think I saw LOL in your post that you ordered a part that will work with that. Would you mind telling me what the part is and where you ordered it from. I didn't realize how much I miss the information center especially with the outside temp read out.

Goin aftermarket is great! Especially when you can add navigation. But with the crossovers built into amps and eq's already in aftermarket decks there is no need for seperate eq's now. You can fine tune the sound just fine. It's not like the old days where a seperate eq was needed.

Doubledin is sooo much cleaner lookin!!

It's the Metra NIRD-01 and it's available from Sonic Electronix. I love having that center screen, make the vehicle look stock.

Yeah man, I've been in this thread a few times, I'm having a hard time with the look and keeping my thoughts to myself. I don't like the two decks, they look SO different, and that contrast makes it look getto. I could see if you did this in a 95, but an 08? You should have picked a better looking deck. And I don't think you really need the EQ that much anymore. I used to get them back in the 80's and 90's, of course all radio's NEEDED them. But more often than not with the systems today, they just don't need that much tweaking...It took me a little time to get used to that idea, but once I opened up to it, I don’t look back.

I think this looks awesome, and I was gonna do the same exact EQ in my fifth gen.

And I agree with the OP, actually I think it's better like this, I haven't found modern decks (especially the ones with nav) to have great Crossovers or EQs in them.

Having a dedicated EQ/sound processor is the best for SQ, IMO. And it bumps the preout voltage up too so running extra amps will just reap more benefits.

It looks different because this Alpine EQ looks like a headunit in itself, but I don't think it's ghetto.

Thumbs up!

I disagree. I've been doing car audio for years and with the right headunit ( even with nav) you can do a lot with sound adjustment. The Eclipse HU's I'm sellin right now are known for sound. The Kenwood I'm selling also has more than just low, mid, high adjustments. EQ's are outdated.
