Burnt tips shouldn't look too bad.

yea i was looking at those the other day. I like the ones on the first link. There are also the same ones as the first, except with a slant tip instead of flat.

Nice! Props to you! Looks like shipping is free too? Quite a deal if these end up being quality mufflers...

I'm kinda getting bored with my Greddy SP2 single pipes.

i like the first ones. I must agree - the 2nd ones are gross and pure ricer style.

I was going to grab a set with a burnt tip but I was not 100% on 'em so went with the CLA's instead...

Burnttips=Rice Ro...

Sorry man, I'm going to call it. The car's got such a classy look without that sort of thing. A subtle slant, and make sure it's not sticking out past the bumper by much more then a cm...

I've got an 07, and I think the pipes on it now look very nice, but that's the 6.5. I've noticed the 6th generation still has the bare pipes inside the chrome sleves, which too looks rice, so I get wanting to replace them on your 04.

For me the only reason I'd change these pipes is if I tore one off on a curb or something. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Thanks for the props! yea looks like shippings free too! I sure hope they are quality mufflers.

And I like the Greddy SP2, but I think my only issue is because of the single pipes. But it has amazing quality so thats a plus

I agree with u as far as the classy look, especially if you're keeping the car stock. I got a body kit with rims and underbody LED's (which some may say is ricer, but I love the look) on the car tho, so I am looking for a sportier look for the car. The 07 did come out with nicer tips and I would keep them if I had an 07 too. Thanks for the input!

Sounds good, just remember, keep them back under the car, limit the distance that it comes out past the bumper, and it will look pro...the more they stick out, the more rice...

Whats the point of having burnt tips if ur gonna tuck them in? I think they should be visible, about a 1/4-1/2" sticking out would look good imo

I didn't mean tuck them in all the way, I meant I would make sure they weren't popping too far out. I think prolly 1/4" would look good.

And The Update: I ordered them around 5pm so i'm guessing i'll get them on tuesday. I'll keep u guys posted!

Hey sorry I am late to this thread. I have burnt slant 3in tips on my max right now. I will post pics and sound clips tonight after I get off work. I was going to wait till the body kit was on and just post a bunch of crap I did to my car at once but trust me these tips I got are awesome. Sound great. Not too deep of a tone but way better than stock. I got 2.5 inch piping from the Y-pipe to the spit for the exhaust and to the mufflers. I love the sound and the burnt tips are nice. I will also post where I got my mufflers from. I seriously got them in 5 days. I live in Hawaii so that tells you how fast these guys are. When I took them out I allmost creamed my jeans. If I had to do it over again I would pay more for what I got. $126 for both mufflers shipped with insurance and tracking. $300 for install at the Muffler Man. It's Hawaii so it probably costs about twice as you would pay on the mainland.

No worries! I would definitely appreciate pics and a sound clip. Sounds like you really liked the tips .. $126 isn't too bad. I ordered mine earlier today. I got em for $86 for both with free shipping. Do they match the car good? oo and what color is your car?

silverbeast, I have the Onyx Max.
BLACKNESS, not really any drone. I think the only time I got drone was in a gear at high RPM letting off the gas. I will try and post the pics up tonight for you to hear. At startup sounds like a Subaru with a 3 in exhaust to me. I know I might hear crap about saying that but that's what it sounds like. It just sounds amazing to me. I thought the intake was a nice touch but nothing compared to the exhaust.

That means you're gonna be very limited on the exhaust options you have! I don't think there are too many mufflers that don't have any drone..

Muffler replacement shouldn't give you the drone. Tone maybe, not drone. I removed the muffler in the center, or cat, whatever that huge thing was, and straight piped which allowed for the droning I think. There is barely any. Trust me I was the same way when looking to get exhaust. No Droning and No Bumblebee muffler sound. I am extremely pleased with this setup. If you don't listen to your radio when you drive then you will hear the mufflers with the setup I have but it's a beautiful tone. Like a sports car tone, not an annoying muscle car or honda civic tone, but more like a Porsche. I will post clips so you can hear it.

Ohh and yea shipping was why I paid 126 vice 86

It depends on the rest of the system on whether or not you get the drone. and I don't want bumblebee sounds either post the pics and the clips. and I figured that was y u paid more!

I know...most systems will have some drone at certain rpms but its annoying if u have ppl in the car or if ur trying to listen to music and all u hear is that stupid vibrating drone

Well if u removed the resonator that will make a huge difference...im planning on using stock res so my sound levels will be much lower...which is what im looking for

Yea I know what you mean man. It does get annoying after a while. Just play around with set-ups and try to limit the amount of drone.
