EGR valve issues

Ok. I posted a while back when I had the codes for a failed right precat. That pre-cat was replaced with a used low-mileage one off car-parts. The codes I've had since have been P1283 and P0406. The second code some how relates to the EGR valve according to autozone's code reader. Siting EGR valve malfunction, faulty EGR temperature sensor, open or short circuit condition. I tried to remove the EGR valve but couldn't get that big bolt loose. I ended up spraying air-intake cleaner into the valve and the tube where the temp sensor was positioned. The CEL went away for about 20 miles of driving then came back; this was even before I reset the ECU. Next, I reset the ECU and CEL came back again within about 15 miles of driving. Long story short. I'm about to get headers installed, and I'm strongly considering replacing the EGR valve and maybe the EGR temp sensor. I'll have the mechanic doing my headers replace the valve as it's harder to do. If that doesn't work, I'll replace the temp sensor myself. Where's the cheapest place to get these parts. I couldn't find them on car-parts.com. Cheapest price for EGR is $240 at the dealership. Courtesy-parts.com has it for $171. Is there anywhere else that has the valve and temp sensor at a cheaper price?

Can't be of much help re: EGR valve etc... but did you ever get the p1283 code diagnosed/fixed?
