quick question about sway bar links.

Are the screws on both sides of the front sway bar links supposed to be stiff? I mean i gotta apply a little bit of force to move it around. I'm having the dreaded front end noise. I changed the struts, strut mounts. Replacing the mounts made it go away but not all. So i'm thinking the bushings in the sway bar are probably dried thus causing the noise?
