dropped a nut behind the intake manifold
I did something really stupid yesterday. I was checking to see if a nut fit on one of the bolts on the upper intake manifold and dropped it right behind the intake manifold. I did not hear any clunking and it didn't fall through to the bottom. I tried searching it for it with no luck. I even stuck a magnet down there to see if that would do anything.
I drove the car after hoping it would fall out but wasn't able to find it anywhere near the driveway.
Any suggestions guys?
Thanks.

Well, it would make a huge difference if there was any chance that it could have fallen down into the intake tract. Otherwise, if you are fairly certain that it is simply lost & embedded somewhere on top of the engine, just replace it and forget it.
Nothing was open. It just fell behind between the firewall and intake manifold. i'm hoping that there are no openings behind there that it could sneak into and damage something.
I'm reading more and more that this happens pretty frequently. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Pretty frequently??? That's an understatement!
I once had a horrible vibration in the car when I turned the AC fan on high (different car). It was like that for a couple of weeks, and I was about to take it in to get checked. First I figured I'd check inside the top cowl where the cabin air filter get's installed, and luckily I could see right down inside the fan...F-n spring fell in there from somewhere...not a clue where it could have come from as the top of the assembly was shrowed very well. Put it all back together, turned on the AC to high, and just like that, no more vibration.
Anyway...You're probably going to be just fine. My case was rare, and still unexplained...
