How to...

hey peeps, hows it going. i have a 05 maxima and i have a couple of quick questions..

1. when i remote stat the car on, the A.C automatically goes to high within 10 seconds. now i know ur not suppose to turn the a.c on until the car has been warmed up. how do i get the A.C to stay shut when i turn the car on..

2. im deciding to get an intake. im stuck in between choosing fujita, inejn, or k&n. which on do you guys recommend.

3. does the intake save gas..

thanks in advance...

For questions 2 and 3 the correct answers are:

Fujita

No, in fact you end up wasting more gas because the sound is so amazing.

Are you making sure that you are turning the AC off before you shut off the car? I think if this is done, it won't turn on when the car is started. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I am wrong though.

1. I Belive the ac should be off then you shut the car off if the ac is on when car is off then the ac should remain off when car is started

2. Nismo

3. If driven right you should save a bit of gas. But I think your car has to get used to the intake so correct me if Im wrong but you might need to do a idle relearn.

That is a myth, not true. AC compressor clutch is not engaged during the engine start cycle. Has absolutely no effect on the system. AC will operate just fine immediately after the engine starts. No need for this so-called warm up period.

You guys who are insisting that your girlfriend turn off the AC before stopping the engine are just creating additional stress on your relationship!

I agree, that's pretty much the only time I use my remote start is to cool off the car on a hot day before I get into it...

1. You can turn the AC off before shutting the car off, but it doesnt need a warm up period.

2. Fujita IMO

3. You will burn more gas at first, only because you will step on the gas more to get that nice roar from the intake.

wouldnt that extra cause stress on the battery if your A/C turns on during start up?

No, yet another myth. When you turn your ignition to start, certain things turn off briefly to allow the starter full power (radio, dash lights, etc). The clutch on the compressor doesnt engage until the engine is running, not while starting.
