Need new brakes//rotors.. Any recommendations>?

So I've been wanting to upgrade my brakes for quite awhile now and never got around to it, but two days ago I pulled up to a red light and heard the loudest SQUEEEK and it came from me!! I want to upgrade my rotors and pads, possibly calipers as well but I dont want to spend a ton since I have a hundred other expensive mods in mind.. Are the Rotor//pad kits available on ebay any good? I saw the Willwood 4-piston setup another member went with recently and thought about it, but too much $$$$ Anyone used a decent kit and loved it?? Help!

I'm looking for some myself! I've been wanting to do this... but I''m unsure what are good rotors/brakes. I want to go with drilled/slotted though!

I changed mine out a few months back.

I went with CryoStop Rotors from TireRack and Wagner ThermoQuiet Pads from Advance Auto Parts. I replaced the front rotors/pads and just the rear pads (not rotors). I had 73,000mi when I changed them out, the front pads had some life left but the rears were just about out.

The setup is working great so far.

The rotors I got aren't drilled or slotted. A solid vented disc rotor will last longer; you don't have to worry about cracks, warping, etc. You just don't have the flash of seeing a drilled/slotted rotor and the venting of excess gas that builds up between the rotor/pad during hard braking (ie. during autocross or track sessions). My car is just used for daily driving so I don't need those extra features.

You could go with a 300zx conversion. It uses stock rotors, 300zx calipers and an adaptor bracket.

How long have you had the drilled//slotted rotors? I've heard that drilled ones tend to crack easily!!

I went with the NAPA Ultra Premium rotors that have the black rustproof hats and their OEM brake pads. The brake peddle action is nice and tight and not sloppy like before. Life time guarantee that is transferable. I had a local garage do all four corners, paid $650 for parts and labor. Ouch. I am at 62000 miles now and these are my first new brakes. Way better than stock. Heavy price tag but I'm happy.

Has anybody used Beck/Arnley Rotors? If so how did they do and last?

Ouch!!!

I got RTP blanks with Hawk pads from the Group Deals section of this forum.
Paid about $400 for rotors, pads, and labor. Reading all the reviews of the RTP rotors, they don't warp like the stock rotors and they also have the zinc plating so the hubs don't rust. Performance so far is on par with stock pads and rotors but I don't autocross or race.
