heat shield removal?
remove all visible screws holding it in. remove screw connecting the forward heat shield to aft heat shield. use universal joint socket adapter and an extension to reach a screw above the exhaust pipe (might have to push the pipe to a side a little.) slide the aft shield out to the left of the pipe IIRC. then remove the forward shield similar way.
this is a royal PITA when everything including screws is rusted. I just had a problem with my e-brake cable and this took the majority of the work time - half the screws just snapped. I haven't even redrilled them. Oh well.
