Double keyfob death?

So a question - This morning, my intelligent keyfob stopped working in my 07. Thinking the battery is dead, I tried the spare keyfob which I am pretty certain has juice in it. It's dead too. They wont open the doors, and wont start the car. the buttons also wont work. And, the odds of both keyfobs dying at once is pretty slim. I got going using the physical key inside the unit.

Is it possible for the keyfobs to "fall out" of programming" or a sensor in the car to stop working? Has anyone else experienced this?

Otherwise I'm going to go find somewhere to get a CR2025 battery and see if that does the trick.

The batteries in my keyfob seem to last a little over a year weather i use them daily or not. I get replacements at walmart back where you get your photo's developed.

I bought two key fobs off of ebay for my 96 back in '03 bc it didn't come with them. I never replaced the batteries until the car was sold a month ago. I've never had to replace the batteries in the two fobs for my 01 (granted only one of them gets used on a daily basis). I have a hard time believing it's your batteries, but hey, prove me wrong. We shall see.

does your central locking work from the control on the drivers side door? you could have blown a fuse. I randomly had this happen earlier this summer. I would bet on dead batteries though, just something else to think about.

My keyfobs were both acting up. It seemed like they both would not open the car unless you were right on top of it. I never had a low-battery light come on in the dash. I took the car back to the stealership, and they told me both batteries needed replaced. My car is an 07, and I only use 1 remote, the other just hangs in the kitchen...go figure.

I think the intelikey is constantly transmitting and the cause of the batteries having a reduced lifespan compared to non-intelikey fobs.

Replaced all of the batteries, and they seem to be working fine. Thanks for the help! It just seemed really random that both key fobs would die at the exact same time, especially when one was almost never used.
