Looking into springs

Hey guys. Im looking into getting springs. Im thinking about progress since they are good for the price compared to eibach and teins which are a little more than i wanted to spend. I was looking online and I saw the D2 make springs for our car as well and I haven't heard of anyone on here with them. Have you guys heard of anything about their springs? Usually when I hear of D2 I think of coilovers. Any imput you guys have is greatly appreciated.

This is not one of those mods where you try to save a buck. That's just me though.

Although I can't comment on the D2 springs I can tell you its a tad lower then the progress and would most likely require new struts/shocks. I have been debating dropping my car for quite some time but I am debating between tein/progress/B&G as they all have a similar drop. If you wanna go lower I think most people will tell you to go with the Eibachs. Also do a search there has been several suspension threads and BTW many people have gotten away with tein or progress on stock struts/springs.

Not too familiar with D2 but Progress is a good choice but Ive read from others that the ride comfort is pretty harsh (if you care) and some say Eibachs have a knocking noise that is hard to get rid of. Im going with Teins sometime this month because i go on long drives every week and our streets out here are horrible with a drop

B&G is a reputable brand that's been around but bigger in German scene (vw/audi/bmw). They advertise lowered suspensions with improved cornering that maintain factory comfort level. I had known a few 4th gen owners in the past that loved them but no-one I know has had them on a 6th gen. I would love anyone who has them to chime in as I have been leaning more towards these or the Tein's as comfort is a concern to me with NYC road conditions. I have heard good things about progress but the ride does become a tad harsher.

Progress has the best looking drop for the 6thgen. I always know progress when a 6thgen is lowered. Have to say though, Having the front lower than the rear makes for a harder ride and my steering got way tough.

I have H&R springs on my 07. The drop is 1.4 FR and 1.3 RR its not as much of a drop in the front as the others but ride quality is great, I can't tell the difference from OEM. I do like the drop in the rear but still have a slight gap in the front, it could use another .5 inches. So far I have had no issues with them.

Really? I wanted to go with Eibachs...damn! I like the way it drops the front significantly more than the rear, the gap in the front is huge compared to the rear. I have seen a few 6th gens with progress and the front still looks higher. not sure what to do now....

Its not real bad just if i could do it again i would run something else like Tein. I'm only using the front springs cuz I have staggered wheels and the back springs won't work with them. I get compliments all the time about the drop though.

I think it depends on where you live. Warm weather states can get away with Progress but where road conditions suck like here in Cleveland, Ohio you might like the less of a drop Teins.

You guys really know your stuff.
I'm looking to do some major front end work on my 04 Max SE. I've neglected my ride for a while so this is what I plan to do.

replace steering rack
front suspension - (struts are blown) and new springs
paint front bumper and hood
install new grille

So this is where my suspension questions come in. Like many of you, I wish to eliminate the front fender gap a little bit. I will continue to run stock wheels and I'm not interested in aftermarket wheels. When looking into spring kits, could I just do the front? Drop it say, 1.5"-2" inches just in the front? Would that much of a drop dramatically impact the handling or performance?
I would have a mechanic do the install as well.

Good luck finding a company that will sell you just the fronts. Yes your ride will ride like crap with aftermarket springs in front and factory in the rear. Reason is because factory springs are soft, thus the smoother ride and aftermarket are stiffer to compensate for the drop, so your car wont bottom out. I have 15 years experience in the custom world and have tested this out. You will also have to adjust the headlights when only dropping the front because now the car will sit raked. I do not recommend dropping the front only. It doesn't mean dum dums haven't done it, it's just not safe, specially at high speeds.
