How about the shifter light on the plate? does it turn on? Sounds like the problem i had. Turned out it was the tail lamp 15A fuse in the IPDM box. That box is located in the passenger side engine room. By the low ac hose. I suggest you check those fuses first.

Maybe you tripped a fuse.

Eric,

If the switches are working, but not the LED's, then I would think you have an issue with the LED's. If even one of the LED's is soldered in backwards (polarity-wise), then I don't think any of them will light up...that's how mine were on my 07. If you tripped a fuse, I would think that the switches would not work either. Did you turn the headlights on with the board plugged in? What controls are those for? Are these the pieces that you traded? Did you break it down to the bare board and see if anything looks damaged? I wish I was a little closer, I'd make a road trip to give you a hand.

On a side note...does anybody know what the heck is going on over at 6thgenmaxima?

Yes I broke it down to the curcuit board, and yes leds looked damaged lol

Do you think the leds need to be re-done, or do I need a new curcuit board all together?

Is this the one you traded for? Get me a couple close-ups of the board and some of the LED's. Does the factory radio have to be plugged in for these to work?

Judging by the looks of that solder job, I'd be afraid to even attempt to correct it. You may be better off getting another board. I know that's not what you want to hear. The more times you apply heat to those solder pads on the board, the more chance that you are going to rip one off of the board.

it depends on the board your working on. They are either a series circuit or indivdual based. The board he's talking about is not a series circuit though.

Keep us up to date so we can help you.
Any other lights out?

before you jump to any conclusion... try this

plug in everything: speedometer, a/c controls etc.
now turn on your headlights
take a pic or tell us what you see. if everything lights up but the radio controls then it's possible that its that. but if nothing works... then 100% your fuse 15A on the passanger side.

also look at your center console light (the little slit that beams down on cup holders)
if thats lite then it's not a fuse most likely.

He stated that the controls work, but the LED's do NOT light. If it is a fuse, then the controls would not work either. The LED's on the board are not fused seperately from the controls.

He's having problems with his driver's window switches also...not LED related. I'm thinking he got sold some garbage.

thats weird... i didn't take that guy he bought it from as shady but very well could be... does his other windows work...

with our cars if the drivers side and passenger side switches aren't both connected neither window will work... not too sure if that helps him out though

If you are sitting at any window in my car, the switch for that window puts it up and down just fine.

If you try and use MY driver controls - you CAN put the front windows up and down but NOT the back? I dunno man...

Heres the email from the kid who sold it to me...
"i did have a problem few times with that but if i would press hard on it they would work. i really didnt use the rear switches so really cant tell. should have checked and informed, sorry about that."

Now that I broke it down to the curcuit board I beleive it is clear to see that my leds are not lighting due to soldering issues...

Dude before taking it up everywhere you need to talk to me about all this. firstly i didnt sent you any garbage. everything came out of a working car with everything in working condition. the problems were indicated and the person who did them for me back in august 2008 i.e "thealliance43" even offered to fix the leds which wernt working at a lower price as my one year warrantee was up.

as far it goes about the radio controls not working, i had the same problem when i swapped mine out. me and "thealliance43" talked over it and found out that the dimmer switch was the one that caused them not to work, why..seriously i dont know. after replacing it i was working fine. i also found a email in which "thealliance43" suggested me to buy the dimmer switch. here it is. it is dated for 08-04-2008

please look in to that

can you please check your fuse.... also check your dimmer switch.... there was a member on the forum awhile back who had a problem with there dimmer switch and that solved there problem... they had the EXACT same problem you have/had. Please check for me fittle with your dimmer switch..i can almost bet money thats where the problem lays... as for the speedometer what else did you want blue?? it looks the exact same as mine so i'm alittle confused???

P.S. THE ONE ONLY PROBLEM THAT I DO CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY IS THE DRIVER WINDOW CONTROL OUT OF WHICH THE REAR WINDOWS SWITCH IS GIVING YOU PROBLEMS, TO BE HONEST I FACED THAT PROBLEM FROM DAY ONE AFTER I GOT TIT BACK FROM "THEALLIANCE43" BUT MY WORK AND LIFESTYLE KEPT ME AWAY FROM MAKING IT A BIG DEAL, GOING THROUGH THE PROCESS OF GETTING IT FIXED FROM HIM WAS JUSY WAY TO MUCH FOR ME, SO I MOVED ON.

ANYWAYS SO TRY TO REPLACE THE DIMMER SWITCH. THAT SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. IF NOT DONT FREAKING BLAME ME.

AND ALL MEMBERS WHO JUST KNOW HOW TO TALK SHI* WITHOUT KNOWING THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY...YEAH YA ALL KNOW WHO THEY ARE...YEAH YOU!!!!
NEED TO LEARN TO DO THAT......SERIOUSLY!!!!

If his dimmer switch was working before the swap...why would it NOT be working now? Your issue was that you weren't getting lights at the AC controls OR the radio controls. He HAS lights at the AC controls, but NOT at the radio controls, so how is that a dimmer issue?
As far as people talking Sh#t...we're trying to help him solve the problem. I guess we could just tell him to "get on with your LIFE"!

And dont tell me I didnt try talking to you about it. I sent you PMs and I saw that you read them, and you NEVER replied back. Im TRYING to move on QUICKLY but I cant!!!!!!!!! Do you think i WANT my CAR in 100000 Peices? DO you think this **** is FUN for me?????????? DO you think I want to reach into my back seat everytime I want to put my windows down??????????? Do you think I want to buy a new radio controls and have them modded???????????? NOOOOOOOOOOO. I would of kept all my OEM orange is I knew this was gonna be the outcome. Why do you think Im trying to resolve it, because I dont have time for this anymore.
You think telling me to move on is the solution?! I hope everytime someone buys something that doesnt work at WalMart and takes it back Walmart tells the customer "move on with your life" WTF IS THAT?????????

If you say the radio controls were working, FINE, MAYBE they were. BUT they never worked for me... So why not answer my PM and tell me they worked instead of ignoring me. The point is, I have to buy NEW door switches and radio controls on EBAY ($200) + pay to have the leds swapped and soldered. I thought everything was gonna plug n play and work perfect and you expect me not to be upset?

TELL ME THIS.... Does everything I sent you work PERFECT?? YES! Then I expect the SAME in RETURN.

04cleanmaxx,

if you want me to check the board... i'll be more then happy to due so for you.
I'm trying to help you as best I can. Do me a favor... Plug everything in, and tell me exactly what lights up and what doesn't. Just for Sh*ts and giggles turn on your headlights with the speedometer etc and adjust the dimmer, if the lights dim it's not your dimmer...

if there was a problem with the led work it would have been brought to my attention and fixed especially while it was under warranty so i'm thinking that's not the problem.

If your dimmer switch is faulty these are the symptoms:
-Speedometer not dimming at all (staying at 1 constant light)
-Other lights in the car not working

My other observation is that not everything is plugged in or a fuse.

I know your trying to help, none of this is your fault... when soldering peices SO TINY stuff like this can happen.
