wiper Motor help

ok, so i woke up this morning to go to work (as a side note, i live in New york and it was snowing a bit, like 6 inches) and i tried to turn on my wipers to help clear some snow from my windshield and they dont turn on. I just figured that they were frozen to the windshield or something so after running the defrosted and warming the windshield up, no luck. Now here are my questions, (1) i am thinking that it is the wiper motor that crapped out, but im not sure..anyone have an opinion? and second i called my mechanic and he told me its gonna be around $140 for parts and install for a wiper motor. (2) I want to do it myself cuz i found a motor online for like $35, does anyone know the degree of dificulty of the swap or has any experience with it? thanks

The first thing I would do is check my fuses.

They could have been frozen/stuck when you turned them on and as a fail safe blew the fuse.

I would also think any good mechanic would have given the same advise...

No problem.

Fuses are always the first thing to check.

You might try looking around on here too: http://tinyurl.com/yhen8es

Is the motor making any noises?

You have three fuses to check. Most likely one to have blown is the 20amp fuse#39 in the IPDM. Also while in the IPDM check the 10amp fuse#47. Last fuse is in the fuse box under the dash 10amp fuse#1.

Glad is was a simple in inexpensive fix.

If only i could figure out why i have no parking/turn signals in the front without dropping the bumper for the 10th time. Probably bad switchback led bulbs AGAIN. But at least they didn't short out and start blowing fuses this time. The two previous times they gave me problems they blew the fuse for my tail lights without me knowing and i got ticketed. I'm done with autolumination.com led bulbs. Time to give v-led.com a try.
