Whoa, 04 SE Manual Tranny is GONE!

I was having problems with 1st gear making a horrible noise for the last month or so, so I avoided using it. Today while leaving the gym, reverse worked, but I couldn't find 2nd. After some playing around, 2nd gear is in the 5th gear position and the others are all mixed up and I can't find 1st or reverse anywhere. I guess I'm gonna have to pop for the $3200 for Nissan to replace the transmission. Oh crap!

The selector cable on the shifter snapped on the engine end. Only $106 if I go pick it up at Courtesy on Monday. Now I'll be back to no first gear. Oh well, better than $3200.

I seriously doubt it. It was making a ton of noise. The shifter cable snapped, that isn't something that would get worse. Just a coincidence. I've got 126K on this car and it is literally falling apart. It sucks.
