Brake Pads

Hello there, I need advice. I have to replace the brake pads for my 06 maxima (25,500 miles). This is the first time replacing the pads. What kind of pads do you guys recomend???? I do not mind buying the oem pads as long I do not have the black DUST all around the rim. How about ceramic pads??? At the dealer I was quote $190.for the break pads and timming belt replacement $130
What do you guys think???
Thanks.

I have Hawk HPC's on mine. Love them, no brake dust. Try searching next time on the site bud, there should be TONS of info on here about things like brakes etc etc.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have an extra set of Axxis/PBR Ultimates that you can find in the group deals section here. Just got them delivered today. After I ordered them, I decided to trade the Max. So these are still brand new, never opened or anything. Feel free to PM me... Don't let the dealer rip you off!

Ceramic pads tend to be the least "dusty". But they may not have as much initial "bite" when you step into them as a performance-oriented street pad (such as Hawk's HPS line).

FWIW, HPS pads don't seem to be dusty on the two cars that I have had them on. Going on two years on the Maxima and over three on the 626, and I'm not afraid to use the brakes hard either.

If you do them yourself, when you push the pistons back in the calipers, let the fluid escape out the (loosened) bleed fitting into container via a hose. You don't want to push the fluid that's in the dirtiest/poorest condition back into the ABS.

And do follow the pad break-in procedure that's recommended.
