So i recently put 20"s on my car and since then I have noticed I am getting less miles for my gas tank or maybe I'm just being paranoid?! Anyone else lose mileage with bigger rims on their 6th Gen Max?!

Yes I did loose a few miles per gallon but my car doesn't do well in the city anyway i'm only getting around 16.5 I get about 28-29 highway

The bigger they are, the harder they fall...



How much do these wheels weight, do you know? I think that's where you're going to see issues with bigger wheels. They may perfore better in the turns, but you'll feel it in the tank if they're not lightweight...

i don't know what size the stockers are, but a dramatic change on wheel size, can also mess with the calibration of the speedo and the odo.
also the weight and mass of the bigger wheels will affect your overall performance from stopping distances being longer, to slower acceleration.

here are few things you should consider.
1. 20" rims are a lot heavier than stock ones
2. because you have bigger outside diameter your speedo/odometer is of probably by like 5-6%

so to sum it up that should be expected, you probably lost 1-2 mpg tops and because of odo error it seems more because it tells you miles traveled than you actually did

thanks for all da info..yea i had 18"s on my old car when my stock were 15" but didnt notice a different like i do w da 20"s and on my Max..

check out this web site for info in wheel and tire changes compaired to stock. It gives all dimensions plus tells you by what persentage your speedo and odo have changed.

Stock SE 18's are any different than the suggested 20" 245/35.

It's more of the weight issue than anything.
