Just let me re-introduce myself...

Yes so after a year and a half out the maxima game I have returned. Traded in the love of my life a lightly modded 5th gen back in 12/08.

Jumped in a 05 Navigator which had to be the most toxic relationship I have ever been in. 3 month in (thanks to warranty) complete engine replacement along w/ numerous other problems. Made the decision recently to let her go and got some good money for her imo. I pulled out my kenwood dnx7100, 2 12" Diamond Audio D6's and a MMATS 1400.1 and cant wait to install it in this maxima...

08 Maxima SL non navi
9k on the odometer

first impressions....
love the interior
smooth ride
nice room

immediate plans...
install head unit and subs
tint
locate a se/g35 rear spoiler
g37 wheels
looking into springs/coilover kits.

Glad to be back... would love to hear from you 07-08 owners regarding installing double din navi's and how affects the factory radio screens.

First off, welcome back to the Maxima game. Like I3lazen said, you should get the 07-08 Maxima spoiler and instead of stock se wheels, what about 350z anniversary wheels? Anyways, good luck on the mods.

Welcome back to the org, nice pick up, love that color. My favorite colors for the mas is the blue and that red, i just love it.
congrats on the pick up. ps you should buy Petit's rims, he is very picky and takes care of his stuff, i've seen them in person

Are the pinstripes painted on or are they stick on? If stick on, a blow dryer and goo gone should work. If painted, talk to your local dealerships and fnd out who does the pinstriping. Get ahold of the person who does the stripes and he should be able to coach you as far as taking it off or just have him do it. The latter option is probably the best route since he usually knows what he's doing.

pin stripe is a sticker... waiting for some warmer weather to attempt the blow dryer method.

With the gold emblem up front and matching gold pinstripe, I'd say leave it on. It gives the car class, and is subtle enough to go mostly unnoticed. See if it grows on you before knocking off the stripes right away...

Let's see some more pictures. Also, do you have gold on the back too?

hey man, your ride is sweet love the colour. in regards to your question about putting in a head unit and what happens to the radio/climate control screen i was wondering the same thing. I have an 06 SE without nav, and from my research I have found that many owners with a double din head unit move their climate control/radio screen down the the space where the cd player / tape deck is, and from there install the head unit where the radio screen once was. I assume this is all done as custom work from specialy install shops. not sure if you will be doing this on your own, but if so good luck. the finished product looks sweet, check out cardomain.com for pics. let bounce ideas off each other because i want to do the same thing to my car

From what i picked up 04-06 have a different center console set up which lets you relocate your oem screen to the cubby down below. 07-08 have 2 seperate screens and our cubby pocket is smaller. In order to install a dd and keep function to our oem screen we have to install a NIRD1 and mount the function pad in our small cubby. Correct me if im wrong anybody!

So the lady bought me a set of nismo's for fathers day which had to be one of the coolest things she has done. Upon receiving them and unpacking them like a little kid on christmas i was disappointed to see this on one of them...

i purchased them from a nissan in Indiana. Before purchasing I asked him if they where clean and he replied w/ "yes there dead stocked and our last set" a few days past and I call up to get my tracking id and somehow we talked about my search for these and he mentioned they where mounted one point. I remind him of our original convo and he assures me there a clean set no rash. He also packed them w/ lugs in a baggy moving around the box (maybe lugs scraped the paint while in transit). it seems like its paint chip but its dead center on 2 spokes. should i let this bug or fix @ what price. even though there small it will still consist of the complete rim being repainted and run the risk of it not matching the other 3.... help me out guys!

went to my local nissan and started kicking it w/ the parts guy which is down w/ a 350z club. the dealer had a little nismo display (wheel, springs keychain... etc) and we start talking about the wheels. I asked if there was a way to track down available wheels w/ a part number and he pulled out a very short list of dealers who had a few left. Theres a dealer in Texas and California w/ 3 sets still available. Dont have there info right now but call your local dealer and im sure you can get it. I'm planning on picking up the display model just for a spare.

Did it cost more than $1000 or less than that?

every location i called literally gave me different prices. i called a spot in indiana and they had a set sitting in the back and really wanted to move them. I paid 800 + tax and shipping. they key is to negotiate especially w/ a dealer that are on there last set back stocked.

How did you find out which dealership carried them? Did your dealer give you a list of who had them?

correct. I will add there inventory search isnt 100%. There where a few dealers who where listed as have 4 (set) but when i called had sold them a up to 3 month ago. so it took quite a bit of phone calls.

So I went to Ira Nissan in Tewksbury and the parts guy told me they can't look into other Nissan's inventory for those wheels. You mind telling me which dealership you went to? I'm going to try the one in Nashua tomorrow to see if they can help me out.
