quick question about remove resonator

have a 2007 maxima with magnaflow dual tip exhaust. i was wondering if i remove the resonator would it sound better? is it worth it? i want it to sound more rich and deep.

Removing the resonator usually gives the exhaust a higher pitched sound. (on 5.5 gens at least) You said you want a deeper tone, so you might not like it.

I agree. Been there done that. Prolly my worst mod evar. You gonna fine tune that biatch like a musical instrument. Try putting on a smaller resonator like I did, Magnaflow mufflers #14816 with Magnaflow resonator #10436

That didn't last long too. OE resonator FTMFW!!!

it is a lil' too loud if yew ask me...i think instead of str8 pipes yew should've gone for a glasspack....unlike str8 pipes it gives yew less drone at highway speeds and it's also less raspy

chk out dynomax bullet race series...should cost yew under $60 incl. shipping...

yew can get da part number frm http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers.php?muffler=racebullet

streetsideauto.com has the best pricing dat i could find

I had a custom Magnaflow catback with 2.5" piping and I just deleted the resonator. The mufflers are the 14807 Magnaflows. I also have an intake.

It's louder and you'll hear it the most in between 2.3-3k RPMs if you're accelerating. But if you're cruising at speed or idling it's fairly quiet. No drone while on the freeway either.
