Extra Warranties...

is it worth it to have :

Security + Plus - $2450. 84month/100k
Maintenance + Plus - $995. 45k
Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Protection - $995.
Total Loss Proteccion - $995.

What do you guys think on a 2007 Max SL - 37k loaded!

can these be cancel after a few month of purchase?

What about the Nissan warrantee? I got my 07 about 17 months ago with 19000 on it, got the 5 year 100000 coverage since the factory W was due to run out in 11 months after I got it. At the dealer it only cost 1700, I got them down to 1200, (I'm sure I paid for it somewhere else).

Now that was less miles, and a little newer, but still same protection...I'd try to get them down below $2000 for sure...

Yes, Nothing is cheap to fix on this car. After purchasing my Max certified used, the engine went out 5k miles later. Factory warranty didn't cover it. The extended warranty got me a brand new vq worth $5k dollars, a new Alternator, a new abs unit, new roof strips and finally before the warranty ran out the Bose head unit was replaced. $0 dollar deductible.

i went with the Gold 7year/70k new, never used it. it's about to expire in 4k miles and considered buying another.

offers in the mail are worthless from reviews i see.
Nissan wants $1000/year. $3000 up front for 3 years. I'd rather save that towards my own repair savings.

If I bought used, I would want an extended warranty past 60k, but since any uncommon problems would have occurred by now and I treat it very well, I decided against more warranties.

At 37k miles, it's worth it.

I just bought a 94 SL with 98k...and was offered $1700 for 3yr/45k...but not excluding wear and tear....I think I am better off self insuring it...because at 98k miles, the warranty provide can pretty much say that everything that is broken will be due to wear and tear....

Check 2007 Maxima story. If believe that there are lots of history of problems with 2007, get one. If you believe it's not ( think the problems are mostly with the 2004-2006), then save your money.
