Try the "search" feature on the forum. There are TONS of threads on HID conversion/installation. Regarding which HID kit to buy, I've been using DDM Tuning HID for my fogs for almost 2 years now, no problems at all. http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

I have the xenon lights on my 04. Are these HID? Are the aftermarket HID's better? I was looking at 6000Ks, what's the rating on the standard ones (the xenons) if they are indeed "HID"'s?

Do you only want a HID kit or do you want to retrofit your projectors to xenon? If so
do it yourself, it isnt very hard and dont buy a single part from Nissan. You only need to buy e55 projectors and D2S HID kit. I bought my projectors on ebay for about $100 and my HID kit somewhere else.

im a little confused i thought hid/ xenon were interchangeable.. please advisee btw mine is a 07

and what do the e55 projectors do? honestly whichever way is cheapest ill go for that i thought all i needed was an hid kit and if so would i have to remove the front bumper for the install?

EBAY is your best FRIEND when it comes to aftermarket HID KITS! I was at Nissan yesterday and if you don't know what you're doing just yet, I'd talk to them first. The 07 MMmMMmmaximmmaaas are so tempermental. My hubby is a master mechanic so I will let him talk to you guys in a bit. =/

HID and Xenon are different. Xenons are a certain projector specifically made for HIDs and are equipped with vehicles that have factory HIDs. If your maxima did not come with stock HIDs then you have halogen projectors and not xenon projectors.

From experience, dumping a HID kit into a halogen projector does not produce enough output and tends to spread the light very narrow and off to one side but it is the cheapest route. What i did was i bought the e55 projectors(xenon) and replaced my halogen projector and it provided me with a more even spread, wider and brighter, better cutoff.

To summarize things up you have two options:
1) Buy a HID kit and throw them into your halogen projectors. <---- Cheapest route < $60
2) Buy a HID kit + e55 xenon projectors and swap out your projectors. This is a little more pricey but you will be very satisfied. You can follow sonikbewm's write up if you wanna go this route.

You dont necessarily have to remove your bumper to install but it will make things a lot easier. It isnt hard to remove your bumper as i have done it more than 20+ times since i bought my car. Remember you get what you paid for so dont go cheap when it comes to your headlights because you will be playing with your safety. PM me if you have any questions ill be more than happy to clarify.
