Body kit/Custom front bumper Discussion - ALL 04-06 & 07-08 Check-in.

Hey guys

As usual, I have somethin up my sleeve. I won't discuss what it is yet, but It'll be promising and can be made within 30 days tops if enough interest is shown. I don't want to waste my time for few weeks to get it done and end up throwing my hard work out the window.

So, with that said, What's the interest for Custom front bumper (similar to RLM) and/or body kit for 04-08 Maximas. Yes I did say 04 through 08. Of course the hood curves for 07-08 will be matched for 07-08 bumpers made. Material or product is yet to be determined.

I'm in nagotiations with a reputable company, so my words are not BS or another dead end road.

Let me know what's on your guys' mind.

You can either find me on this org or my org, 6thgenmaxima.org

I'll wait for everyone's replies.

Sounds like smoke and mirrors until you have a product. Gotta take the plung for us, then show us what you've got when it's done.

Not feeling the bumper. Something more like the GTR bumper would be nice.

never liked the rlm, gtr, or even the sarona for that matter. too big. maybe something more stock looking would be sick.

What do you mean by "stock looking" exactly? To make the RLM look a bit more stock, or any bumper for that matter, you'll just need to make the lines that line up with the hood and fenders worked a bit more to match the stock lining of hoods and fenders.

Instead of everyone shooting down ideas by saying "not liking it" or "not feeling it", why don't you guys be suggestive and give idea of what changes you'd like on that bumper.

My intentions were to have something "available" for 04 through 08's to choose from if they decided to get a front bumper or even a kit. So far we have 10 people trying to make "lip" for 07-08 or a front bumper blah blah... now nothing was accomplished. Maybe 1 person got a "lip" done, but that's as far as it went. Whatever it is that I can work on to be made can be made within 30 days, not months or years.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

If your going to do it, do lip options....these big monstrosity bumpers look horrible on 6th gens, a lip is where its at... something subtle, that compliments the look of the test of the car.

But I'm with KC, don't waste the time and effort, there will be a lot of interest, but 90% of the people interested won't come through. How it always happens.

Best aftermarket front nose ever was the RedLineRacing that Chern rocks. The round fogs play well with the OEM lights on the 6 and 6.5 Gens. If it were made from a poly and not fiberglass it would have been perfect.

The fogs don't really match the headlights, and they look kinda out of place. I would stick with stock bumpers and lips. Make us some low-key side skirts and rear aprons!

Would you mind If I had replicas made off yours? If you're not comfy replying here, you can PM me bro. I ask that because I admire the look and effort of that lip.

Whatever it is I can do, i'm down to do. I'm tired of "hearing" things are being worked on and waiting monthS to see it happen. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I'm also working on molded 07-08 spoiler into rear bumper replicas idea.. & new grille idea for 04-08. I do have my stock bumper with the molded stillen lip in my storage, so they use that for the grille for fitment, etc. Just need ideas for grille to make it happen.

ideas and suggestions are welcome.

felt like i've been burned twice with the other two lips that are still yet to be done. kinda feel iffy by putting my money out there again. Since its you rani, i'm game. hmm.. just an idea but maybe you can make a nice sporty aftermarket fender to go along the lines of the max. the sorona fenders available are okay but i feel a more sleek style vent would look better.

I don't blame you bro. I haven't invested in any of the yet-to-be-made lips and I'm frustrated about it just like everyone else lol.

I won't be asking for money at all.. I'm just trying to get ideas/designs so I can apply it into something. I'll spend my own money to have the "lips" to be made (which shouldn't take more than 2-4 wks tops) and available once I get the supplies ready to take over to the company I'm dealing with. It's not a small shop, so I don't have to worry about 2-year project.

I'll work on the lip for 07-08 for now, then MAYBE the trunk idea (not too sure about it yet), grille, etc.. whatever it is I can do to get things started, I will do.

Besides, I don't disappear... you guys know where to find me lol.

I def agree w/ a front lip....maybe a front bumper for the '04 to '06 guys and a front lip for the '07 to '08 guys. I've got an '07 and I'm about to do the Mugen lip mod just b/c I'm getting tired of waiting. Thanks for trying to bring something new to the market for the 6th and 6.5 gens.

I'm actually purchasing the mugen and the scion lips to take with me when I go meet with them.

04-06 at least now have multiple options like stillen lip, RLM, GTR, etc.. I'm gonna try to see If I can get the lip thing applied to the 04-06 bumper as well, of course with minor adjustments, etc. We'll see.

Never a bad idea to get it out on the table and discuss it. Lip is a good place to start.

With regards to the scion and mugen type lip.. its very had to customize these lips to fit as a "bolt on."

Both lips that are custom fitted right now are both molded on. Not too sure how you can get it done but i'd love to see how it comes out.

ive been just as fustrated as everyone else with people talking about making lips or bumpers. i say if your game to do something then i know its gonna be real product. you have my support all the way Rani. imo opinon the gtr is the best rear bumper for our cars and the gtr seems to be the best front. my idea is to have something like the 07 fogs molded into the gtr front bumper to give a stock like look, sorta like you can get a benz regular or a AMG benz that has a little kit style to it. the rear gtr should be modded lightly as well. also i thought it would be cool if the gtr could have the 07 headlights as well but you would have to buy a 07 hood to make this work as well. well those are my thoughts and to everyone else we all should bring something to the table instead of just shutting down one of the top guy who has always made a difference for 6thgens. he just only owns a 6thgen forum.lol

I'm guessing the only way to do it is to mold one onto an 07-08 bumper then make a mold off that..??? I'm not sure how they'd do it, but i'm very sure it's possible.

LOL thanks Cory, I appreciate your support bro. Mark my word, I'll get **** done, and get it done right too. My car is the best example of how I like things done, so i'm not worried.

I still have my GTR front and rear, so I might give that to shop and we can make whatever changes we want. I know damn well what I changes I want to make lol since I had it installed and things weren't fitting right, but i'll wait for everyone's input as well.

Yeah I had the current rear stillen lip molded into my stock bumper and installed it. It looks pretty nice and fits perfect.
