That depends. If you have an option for satellite radio or 'aux' on yours then yes. I had to put a modulator in the antenna that plugs into my ipod adapter that overrides a certain radio station and puts the audio over it. Similar to an FM transmitter, but it connects directly to the antenna in the back of the radio rather than transmitting it to the radio via wave.

The sound quality is a little off if I have my ipod all the way up, but it's better than any other option I tried (FM Transmitter, tape connector)

In my opinion, ipod adapters are crap. You might as well save up for a new HU that has an aux connection for your ipod.

I agree. But for me, the way I did it was my only option. I don't have the bose system, so I can't install an actual integrated adapter that plays through the stock HU.

Is there a way to buy something or take it somewhere where they can install an aux port?

Skip the Aux connection and buy HU with usb port. You will be much happier. Newer decks with USB will control your ipod straight from the deck and will keep it charged. I have a jvc deck with USB and it's rock solid!

Any store that sells car audio should carry decks with USB. It is common now for the decks to have USB. My deck was only $120 bucks.

Cartoys (they have refurb units for cheap)
Bestbuy
Ultimate Electronic
Quality Auto Sound

Yeah on my ride it only shows the temperature outside. There might be a solution you have to search for it...

I had nothing but problem with my BOSE. Becuz I can customize my eq on my deck it sounds much better! I also added 12" sub and it makes the system just that much better.

if you replace the HU you're only going to make the sound quality better, as for the display screen on the stock im not sure, im having the same predicament, im trying to install 2 12 inch subs in my 04 max and i dont know if i should put a new HU in or just do it via a line level adapter

yeah man .. i did run into a adapter for like a buck fifty where it has three buttons that would replace the "trip info" button .. And you will still be able to display all that info with a aftermarket HU

Does anyone know if you can replace the HU without an Aux or Sat button on your dash? I have an 06 without the Bose system. The way it sounds like it might work is that the HU replaces the CD player, so I would just have to choose CD for the new HU to work. Any ideas?

If you don't have BOSE you should be able to replace it with any HU!

Sweet. I went out and bought this bad boy:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-TRmkSQ8...DC-BT945U.html

And bought a steering wheel control adapter. I just have to wait for my dash kit to come in... no one around here had it so I had to order it from amazon. Now I have to wait.

Yeah, I'd like a double din as well to keep it as close to stock as I can (DD would look SLICK). But I can't afford it right now. Maybe when I get back from Iraq in January... and then I can sell this one for a decent amount.

If you have a factory headunit you should get the Nissan PXNI. It basically plugs inline with your factory harness and gives you two auxillary rca audio inputs (SAT1 and SAT2). I am using the same unit to get audio from my carpc to my factory headunit. And I am using the second input for my ipod and satellite radio.

I love how it sounds. I didn't have the Bose system, but the speakers in the back window are still subwoofers. And I love the ipod and bluetooth integration.

There's not really an issue, you just have to get a different kind of harness, and you have to make sure the radio you get has pre-amp outputs for the bose amps.

I bought a product at Best Buy called iSimple. It hooks directly to the factory Bose system. It has a dedicated radio frequency. There is no static. It is essentially CD quality sound. The auto techs at BBY installed it for me. You don't see any wires because there is just one cable which is inside the small compartment in gear-shifter.

I bought a similar product at best buy and it sounded like crap when I installed it. The lower tones were great, but when there were minimal amounts of treble, static ensued. I'm happier with my kenwood system.
