Replace 3.5 engine or Remanufactured?
Guys I am going to replace my engine mainly because I have 160k miles on it and I am going crazy listening to this header/lifter tap. Wanted to know if you would replace your engine or go with a re manufactured one. Mechanics agree with me about not trusting a place that is selling an original engine out of someone car and trusting the mileage they say the engine has. Just would like to know which route would you go and why? Thanks for your input

www.car-part.com.
So, what's the problem? Header tap? Explain ...
If it's not burning oil I wouldn't swap.

I have had problems with this engine. From the timing chain tensioner and now I hear they have a service bulletin for the timing chain guide. At one point I was using oil but now I am not because I had a leak at my oil cooler o-ring that just got fixed. I just want a quite car. Dealership says when trying to fix these problems, it would be better to replace the engine.

My Max is a 2005. Guys I read somewhere on the internet about this tapping sound. Sometimes from a cold start my car sounds like a freakin lawn mower. Also when I drive you can slightly hear the header noise. I run 10-40 full synthetic oil.
