RLM bumper mods
DO NOT paint if flat black. I just can't image that looking good. Here's some pics of the Flat Black Mercedez SLR 722: http://www.bwtorrents.com/showthread.php?t=136175
But remember it's a Mercedez SLR 722, it would probably look good in lime green.

Ive been driving around with the RLM bumper on and have some observations. I noticed that the car is more stable at high speeds. I also noticed that it is really low even though it has been shaved. Due to these observations, I am wondering if the splitter is maybe not a good idea. I am thinking of making it very small, say about an inch or so. This would protect the bottom of the bumper too.

Well part of the problem is that my street tires are 245 40 18 tires which are very low profile. I swapped rims which have my 255 40 18 racing tires and it raised the front by 1/2 an inch. If I got the stock tire size it would bring it up even more. So maybe Ill do the splitter afterall.
On another note: I noticed that the lower front opening goes well below the radiator. The stock bumper has a small opening that is in line with the small portion of the radiator. The problem with the larger opening is that LOTS of air goes UNDER the radiator thereby creating lift and instability. I plan to make something to guide the air to the radiator and block it from going underneath. Ill try to take pics to show u guys what I mean.
**Got a pic. Look at the red lines and you can see how much higher the radiator is compared to the bottom part of the bumper.

Update***** Bumper came back from the painter. I know it took a while but he had other commitments and was doing my bumper as a side job. It came out beautifully. He did some shaping so that its perfect. Ill start a new thread after i install it and get pics.
