Very nice budget cat-back system for sure for around $200 and you can install it yourself? Looks good underneath there, nice find.

Man, you guys need to learn to take videos, I have a headache. With that said, I have that same exhaust. It's worth the money for sure. This is what it really sounds like lol.

you can install it yourself ( maybe with a buddy) but i took it to a friend who works at a muffler shop... all you have to do is take of all old bolts... the pipes comes out .. then you can just bold new system in..no welding no fabrication needed at all.( take look at pics) . just fits right in place of oem .. ( only problem you might run into while doing it at home is the old bolts might not want come off.. you might need to heat them up and then remove it.. (that was needed for my car))

Looks great man... just a quick question, did you have the 2-3k RPM vibration in your Max and did replacing the exhaust help with it?

Yeah man, that exhaust is sexxy. The video was kind of hard to see though, had to tilt my head just to see what's going on.

I see what you mean, but for 4-12 hp $189 isn't bad. I would say if we net about 8hp from it it would be worth it (To me atleast) But the validity of HP doesn't come without a dyno or a good tune. None the less you should definitely feel a power difference when adding the Y-pipe.

Both, you go from 2.25 factory piping to 2.5, mandrel bend and gain about 8 to 12, 189 shipped to your door, what more do you want. This is an exact replica of the $900 dollar Greddy and looks the same except the burned tips, some people say this ebay one sounds the same and you save 700. Sounds good to me. I'm usually after quality products and this is the first time that I really got more for what I paid. If anything, I could always cut those mufflers off and weld some nice ones and still have the quality piping for half of a name brand cat back.

Thought I heard someone talk about the drone issue with this system in the past. Or is this a different system ?

Not sure, people talk a lot of BS but I got no drone. Maybe they didn't realize aftermarket exhaust makes more noise then factory and called it drone, I'll believe that. Same idiots say Progress springs are bouncy when they aren't.

Each cat-back is most likely going to have it's own drone points. It's the nature of the beast. You change the stock exhaust to be louder, you might hear it in the cabin. It may sound better out the tail pipes but you have to set your tolerances for how much noise you can handle inside the car.

When I bought my Nismo Exhaust and had it installed it sounded awesome.
(Was there a drone? Yes slightly but very tolerable.)
http://forums.maxima.org/6th-generat...st-street.html

Once I added headers the drone was too much and I didn't even like the exhaust note. So I had to change the resonator. http://forums.maxima.org/6th-generat...y-exhaust.html

Some people have a drone and don't even know it. Some may have a car that bounces and don't not realize it. They might be newbs, watch out. (I even think there is a guide out there somewhere)

Anyway....

I recommend you just have to take your time keep on researching. You will get to know your car and figure out what works to your taste and what doesn't. It really isn't about what is right or wrong, but personal taste. IMO this is a very decent exhaust setup.

You have to buy it for the Altima and extend it.

Well, the reason I said it was official is because when you call they ask you what item you are looking at and then they send you a money request via paypal. Ive never had any company offer that option.

I've done that a few times on eBay. You're using PayPal so you are still protected.

custom maxima cat back

Has anyone bought and installed the custom maxima cat back system for the 6th gen max? Does is fit? How does it sound? It's super cheap and that scares me plus I've heard bad things about custom maxima. Also what some of the systems on ebay, same questions for those as well. I know that a guy posted on here that the eaby systems are always a safe bet but I'd like to hear from someone who has first hand experience with them.

Thanks
