Trunk Problem

Ok guys...I need y'all help.

so some how my trunk is not opening..either from the remote or from the door panel switch. Yes I checked the valet switch...that does not help...still the trunk wont open. then i popped open the door panel and tested the switch...its getting power and when button is activated, it completes the circuit...yet the trunk wont open.

Here is the other dilemma, I cant get the rear seats to come down due to the fact of the custom installation of amps ( both sides of the seat comes down as one piece)...so i cant manually pop the trunk from the trunk release inside the trunk.

My conclusion is that the solenoid in the trunk is faulty...does anyone agree?

is there any other thing that I can do fellas? my last resort is to break the custom install... HELP

Trunk solenoid would be the next place that I would look. No idea how you are going to get into the trunk without going through the rear seats.

I still didn't get it open as of yet. Havn't really got around to it due to the fact that NYC had lots of rain the past fews days.... and been busy with some school issues.

At this point I can say this...something is going to have to get broken in order for it to be fixed.. lol. I'll keep y'all posted...

I know this sounds stupid, but i say disconnect the battery for like 10-15 minutes and restart the car, maybe but maybe it might reset something. Just a wild guess, not saying it will work dont know about electronics or anything but hey its worth a shot

You could remove the rear deck cover and get to the the seat or trunk release through the speaker opening.

thanks guys... I found the problem. The trunk relay in the BCM unit is dead. Due to the install of an aftermarket alarm system with trunk pop, which according to my installer sends a negative signal to the relay..which over time damages it. All he had to do was bypass that relay and add on another one. Dont ask how but he did. All I know now is that my trunk opens .. lol ..

Glad they got it fixed. The BCM is pretty tricky in the signals it sends...it's pretty easy to screw something up.
