Finally, my timing chain tensioners are done!

My second transmission was put in my max in February and my timing chain tensioners including my secondary timing chain tensioner was replaced as well. I sure hope I have no other problems with my car, enough is enough.

BTW, my initial investment of $250 covered my first transmission plus a $100 deductible, and the second trans(the one installed in February) was done for free from Nissan, and I bought a $900 warranty to save myself the extra several hundred dollars to get my timing chain tensioners done.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

What were the symptoms of bad tensioners?

There was a loud whining noise coming from the passenger side of the engine when it was warm.

nice man, I had to do my tensioners out of pocket...I think by the time I was done I spend about $1500...thats doing it myself, and changing EVERYTHING (Chains, tensioners, gaskets, pump, EVERYTHING brand new)

Damn, my cost if I were to go through the service department at the Nissan dealership I work for was about $1300. Customer pay would have been about $1800-2000. I'm just glad I bought my warranty. I got 0% financing on the warranty for 12 months, too.
