2004 Maxima Noise need help!

Hello Guys,
I have 2004 Maxima with 69k miles. It has been making some ticking noise for past 4 weeks. Ticking noise comes from the engine when i turn on the car and its cold. It goes away after few minutes when car warms up or i start driving and i go over 3,000 rpms. Is this something i should be worried about??

Thanks for help in advance.....

I heard that if i use stainless steel oil filters might make less noise also i was wondering if i do oil change and bump to 10x30 synt..instaed 5x30 would it make any difference? I know its timing belt and does anyone know when should i get this replaced.

Your vehicle does not have a timing belt it has a chain! The noise ur talking about is it coming from that area or valve covers,if its coming from the valve cover area i would take an oil pressure test to be safe.If the oil pressure is good i would try a bg flush and change the oil and then see how it sounds after the oil change!

My car sounds like a diesel when it is cold. You are approaching that magin mileage number where the timing chain guides are going to need to be replaced.
