manual grind

Has anyone experienced grinding shifting from 1st to 2nd gear? Doesn't happen all the time and never happens from 3rd to 2nd.

I experience sloppy shifting in my car, I dont think this 6speed is best? Maybe the mechanic put mine in wrong but I have missed shifts before and I am like WTF? Push down on the clutch pedal and it misses?
