07-08 Window regulator
07-08 Window regulator
Did a search and found a couple of threads from years past on power window issues, but nothing recently.
My max is an '07 SL with around 47000 miles.
Anyone having issues with their power windows? I recently started seeing an issue with my driver's window, which also happens to be the most used. It will go down about 1/2-3/4 and just stop. If I put it up and come back down it will eventually go down all the way. I am afraid that the regulator is going. Sound like that is what it could be? Are these hard to change? I have swapped window motors and such on my old car (1999 Altima), but never cracked a door panel on the 07-08 Max. Anyone know of a "how-to?"

Thinking I will try this, although my symptoms are not the same...

try pushing the switch down, and holding it down until it goes all the way.. hold it there for 10 seconds. then hold it up.. let it go up when it does hold it for 10 seconds. might fix it. sometimes they have to be 're-programed'
if that doesnt work. take the door panel off, and behind a black piece of textured plastic/tape. there should be a tiny button on the regulator motor, press it. should reset everything.. then you might have to program said motor with the first suggestion i stated.

its likely the motor is starting to go bad. I replaced on my 04 couple months back. I got a replacement from someone off the org here.
Opening the door panel, and getting off the motor is easy.
Once you take off the door panel, you'll see another 'panel assembly' to which the motor, regulators, rails, window are mounted on from the other side. Taking it off is easy 8 bolts i believe. Putting that back together is quite challenging.
While deinstalling and re-installing the key is to align the glass mounting bolts (attached to the regulators) with the hole covers you will see on the inner 'panel assy". They are covered by black stickers, remove them, and roll the window up/down until you see the mounting bolts. Once the are aligned you can proceed to remove those bolts as well as the bolts that hold the panel assy in place.
Do not try to put it back together while the window is fully open!
Also, once you finish swapping the motor there is a reset switch you should press on the motor as well.
Hope this helps.

Try reset procedure,if that doesnt work your regulator is starting to bind up in which case your going to have to replace it.one thing pay attention to motor operation before pulling it apart,if its noisy or extremely slow when you pull it apart take a whif at the motor .If you get a slight burning smell just change it too that way in a month u dont have to pull the door panel apart again...
