5spd auto transmission code of death :-(
I am just making a couple of more payments and will most likely trade, just wanting to wait it out for the last 8k miles or so
Ya better get on it a little here and there while under warranty. Not saying pop wheelies and all, but pull some G's and make sure it will shift smooth during passing on interstate and pulling out hard at a red light or two. Babying it will hide the issue if its still there until its outta warranty (murphy's law).

I drove it 70 miles out of town and put it through some aggressive driving. The only thing I notice now is a tugging sensation every time the car coasts from 3rd gear to 2nd gear. The transmission guy says that this hiccup will go away soon as the transmission adjusts to everyday driving. I still left the transmission cooler disconnected even though it turns out it wasn't part of the problem. I may reconnect it at a later time.

My 06 was having tranny issues before I sold her. At about 90k miles started slipping, at about 105k did the limp mode thing, scared the hell out of me because i was making a left turn when it decided to go into limp mode. Got it home and next day had it towed to the shop. Opted for a full rebuild including new valve body. Got my car back almost a little over a month later. Drove her for about two weeks then one day I stopped at a red light, the light turned green, I pressed the gas to go the car lurched slighly forward then nothing. Got it towed back to the shop and it took them another month to fix it. What sucks is I took it to nissan prior to the tranny going out again and got an alignment and the tech who worked on my car complimented me saying whoever fixed my tranny did an excellent job. Well that goes to show how much he knew. Well While waiting for my car to get fixed the second time I decided i couldn't take it anymore and went and bought a 2010 G37 sedan. My intentions were to still keep Maxine but she started giving more problems and my brother wanted to buy her so i sold it to him. He lives with me so I still get to drive the car from time to time. I miss my Maxima but i dont miss the tranny issues.
Btw, I have a friend with an 07 Maxima who has to have his valve body replaced due to over heating issues. He says the service tech at nissan said its a common problem with the cvt's on that model as well. He stated they usually start giving problems at 70k. His started at 38k. With Cvt's it doesnt really feel like a tranny problem, it feel more like a loss of power.

Thank you for this experience with the 07 maxima, i was considering buying one of these but didn;t want to spend more than 14K, so i end up buying a 04 SE for a reasonable offer, even tho i was aware of the tranny issues.
