More modifications

Well I have ordered and or received the following parts for the car.

1) Hella Super Horns - received
2) Custom lower lip - received
3) LED (white) Daytime Running Lights - received
4) Racingline Y-Pipe - INSTALLED
5) Racingline grounding kit - INSTALLED
6) Rear Sway Bar - Ordered (back ordered 5 wks)
7) Mufflers - ordered
8) Smoked Spoiler 3rd brake light - INSTALLED

Looks like Christmas is comin early for me. Can't wait to get everything in and start modding & installing. I've got to get the grilles for the horns painted to match (K50) & then see what's its gonna cost to have the lower lip molded into the front bumper, primed, sanded, & repainted like Blazen had done to his blue maxima. Then I'll install and wire up the Horns & DRL LED's to include hopefully geting the Y-pipe & grounding kit installed while the bumper is off the car and at the shop.

Not yet. Everything is still kinda in boxes. It's all been checked to ensure no damage but no pics. I am a very detailed person when it comes to projects, to include HOW TO's and pictures to go along with it. All in good time...Horns & LED's seem easy, just gotta figure out where I want the switch for the LED's and I gotta hunt for the freakin OEM horn, which I still can not find. 6.5, you think ya can help me out in tryin to locate that SOB, cuz this PITA is doin' a damn good job of hidin.

You have got two horns. A high and a low. Service manual says to remove the headlights to get to them.

Explains why I can't find them damn things. So If I have 2 horns, am I removing them both and making the Hella horns my primary or am I leaving the OEM one's in place and tapping in?

I installed the Racingline Performance Grounding Kit (http://racinglineperformance.com/sho...&idcategory=24 ) today. The instructions that came with it were in b/w so I had to print out the colored ones from their website. Much easier to follow for sure. I used a white spatula to show where the connections are so look for the tip of that to see where the wires connect. Attached are pictures from my install from beginning to end. There are 12 connections total from beginning to end. If anyone has any questions on where things are at, because the pictures are a little deceiving for those who haven't attempted this before, feel free to PM me.

Thanks chernmax. That one bolt in the rear was a PITA, but I finally got it. Pictures and a thorough detail of what I do is part of who I am..."Before, mid-way, after" know what I mean.

I am sure there is some improvement. I haven't really noticed that much. I am sure as I drive it, I'll notice improvements.

Were your wires numbered 1,1,1,2,2,6,6,7? If so it is different than mine and I cant figure out why. Mine are numbered 1,1,1,1,1,7,7,7 and the first step is to run one #7 wire to the top bolt of the starter. The picture for step one is however a picture of the wire running to the trans bolt just like the instructions on their website. Im confused...

Hey man, thanks a lot. You were very helpful last night. I still havent found out for sure if the bellhousing bolt I see is the correct one to use. I also dont understand why the directions are so cryptic.

Wire #7 from trans bolt ( pics 1 & 2) on side of cylinder head. ( located just in front of starter)

Trans bolt on the cylinder head??? There isnt any trans bolt on the cylinder head...
Just in front of the starter??? My starter is more toward the rear of the engine. The picture of this step shows the front end of the engine.

Quite confusing. Maybe I will hear back from Racingline...

Thanks again man. Sorry I hijacked your thread Congrats on the parts and progress.

Well I got the Y-pipe installed the other day. Man what a difference. I also attempted to install the Racingline Performance MMI's but let me tell ya what.....F that. I'd pay the labor for that. That was hard enough getting the 3 bolts, 2 nuts and the heat-shield off from the rear and then I couldn't even get the OE mount off....Couldn't figure out why...but nonetheless, enjoy the pics of the Y-pipe.

Nice work man! Can you describe the difference? Sound, acceleration, etc.. I am planning on doing some major exhaust work soon and I have been planning on using Racingline's y-pipe.

Also, my MMIs are in the mail as we speak. I was planning on installing them myself but your post has me thinking twice. What happened???

Well Switch, as far as the sound difference I can't really tell any. I don't have a resonator (removed while back) and I have the Fujita CAI so the (internal) sound is normal. Acceleration is definitely improved and from 30mph to about 80mph (wide range) the car just really seems to go...before you know it you are doing near 80 in a 55. Very impressive. I am going to try and tackle the MMI's later on but not anytime soon, maybe once the OE ones go out, I'll have the other ones inserted in. I am a patient person, but WTF, that was a PITA tryin to get to everything.

I am waiting on my CATTMAN (ceramic coated) mufflers to come in, just ordered to day so once I get them in, they'll be getting installed, along with a resonator, just gotta determine which one I want, then a new B-pipe (if they make them) and then I'll work on getting the horns (grilles painted to match) installed and working to include getting my front lower lip molded into the front bumper and doing a little modifications to the louver opening on the lip as well.

Be sure to post pics of your wheel purchase.

I didn't see a KCMAXX INC. RSB in those pics either.

Well I have ordered my rims so I am waiting on shipping / receiving those. I picked up the grilles to my Hella Horns. They come red from the factory, but I had them painted (K50) to match. These will be mounted behind the grille so it blends in with the body and hides from the radiator area.

I am waiting on my mufflers to be delivered as well as my (back ordered) rear sway bar. Once I get all those items in, I'll be getting those installed.

I plan on doing my (complete) detail after the first of the year (Mequiars step 1, step 2, step 3 process, etc) and while I am doing that my bumper will be removed to have the lower lip molded onto it then repainted. I am also going to extend the horizontal opening on the lip to encorporate my (Audi style) DRL LED's. I know it will be a while, but please be patient as I hope to have some good photos with everything installed and completed after the new year.

Almost forgot. I ordered a smoked spoiler 3rd brake light as to blend in with the color of the car and to match the LED tail's I've had installed for a while. This was an EASY install. Unscrew the old light, open the trunk and take down the trunk mat, disconnect the quick disconnect for the spoiler light, pull the bung plug from the trunk lid, cut, splice, reinstall and you're done. Enjoy the pics.
