Nissan Maxima 2005 Shifting Problem
hi, I just bought my car by private sale. In reality theirs nothing wrong with the transmission. The only part is that when i try to return to D from Shifting +/- , it doesn't budge that easily. It kinda gets stuck. I do not know what to do.
I also noticed that their was some type of liquid all the way towards the back on the bottom. Like if it leaked from the hydraulic piston that moves up and down. It was like a thick black cable that connected to the rod. It was not leaking for real, it was like a little wet.
Here is my video I took earlier. My dad told me that problem that rod has to be regulated. When the level is in D, it has like 0.5" separation from the lower yellow guide pad. Is their any way to regulate the rod to move up and down the lever by a couple of millimeters? I'm not an expert but is their some type of screw to regulate it?

I had a similar problem with my 2004. My 2004 would not go from D to P. It would get to N and would not let me go further. It turns out there is a computer board under the steering column that controls the shifter. Once they replaced that and a few solenoids in the shifter it worked great but would not work until the computer board was replaced. I think the computer board is only about $50-$60 but I don't know for sure that it would fix your problem.
